I have a post...When in Rome. I got some good feedback....but I put some new stuff on my page. Actually I became Premium again. I took the advice of some nice folks that replied...and "chilled" my delivery with various demos.
I would greatly appreciate any and all criticism. If you don't feel like writing a book, just write.... Poor. Good. Ok. etc. And if you think I should totally go back to the drawing board...tell me; my shoulders are big and I keep eating...which means so is my mid section. ahah.
Thank you for your help

Hello Michael,

First off WOW, I loved your State Street Grill demo and you should keep it as it is. Cool

For the Narration read, I do think that you need to scrap it and re-do it. There was no life in it at all, and the characters all sounded the same with the “readers” voice

The Martz demo it was good for being a sport demo, the only thing that needs work on it is the microphone levels, since your voice came out with to many “S” and “CH” sounds.

Your commercial demo had a lot verity to it, but I heard a lot of hard sales in it, and you also had the same problem with the “S” and “CH” sounds with it.

The Amore demo was ok, I think that you could have put more feeling into it (but don’t kill it with to much) The start of it sounded good since you could tell you were great mood recalling the memory, but you lost it and it sounded like you were just reading at the end.

Atomic Mary Digital demo was good, and I wouldn’t change it. It came across as a good mix with a hard sell and a bit of a soft sell with your voice.

Aurels demo had too much of an echo to it, and needs to be re-done.

Shakers Club was great. I loved the way the billed up was at the start and then the punch you gave when it came to party time.

You gave a god broadcast read with the Walker Carpet, but the “S” “SH” are killing ya again.

That’s my point of view with your demos. Again I loved you State Street Grill demo, who ever did your demo (or if it was you that did it). Did a great job, changing it would be the worst thing you could ever do. Hope my two cents helps

Vincent

You have a fantastic set of pipes! The commercials are great, you can tell you have been doing radio for awhile. The only thing I can critique you on is your narration...it sounds like you are reading a script. Try to "feel" the characters, close your eyes if need be and forget you are reading text...be the character!
Cheers,

Thank you very much for the feedback. I will re-listen to each and make the necessary (hopefully) changes to put it on-track.

I do appreciate the honesty and the time you both took (Vincent & Rodney) to reply.

If anyone else is reading this....I welcome your take on my demos too.

Thank you again
Have a great day
