| I don't really know any other voice talents aside from the "competition" that I meet at auditions and I certainly don't personally know anyone else who is trying to eke out a living with Voice123 or other online tools. Most people in other industries are able to meet up after work and give each other tips and support, but unless you are working on a long term project with other talents, we seem to have a very insular professional life. I realize that we are spread out all over the globe but perhaps we could organize some regional get-togethers at a restaurant or bar where we can talk about the biz and help each other out and maybe have a good time. I live in NY and would be happy to try and set up something along these lines. Any takers? |

Erik, Great idea. Takes me back before the Internet days when you would post to a bulletin board, and the members of the BB would meet and have a software swap meet. Did I just date myself. : - )
Unfortunately, I am not in NY, but in the Center of the good ole USA in Austin. Tx.
Well its the Center to me. : - )
So, com'on folks chime in.
Chris. |

You are welcome to come audit a class for free. Or, if you can start class
this week, we still have room!
This class is taught by
JOSEPH ROCHA.
Joseph Rocha has taught stand-up comedy for many years in San Francisco,
California working with Judy Carter, author of "Stand-Up Comedy: the Book",
and Joseph has contributed to Judy's best-selling book "The Comedy Bible".
Joseph has trained count-less new comedians to become professional, working
comics, plus Joseph works with many established comics seen on Comedy
Central, helping them write material for their 'regular' acts, and for
numerous half-hour specials.
Joseph is a regular, paid comic at Gotham Comedy Club, Comic Strip Live,
Stand-Up NY Comedy Club, Rascal's (NJ) and the Jack Daniels "IA! CARUMBA!
Latino Comedy Festival". He has appeared on comedy shows like Spike TV's
"Latino Comedy", and Galavision's "!Que Loco!" & "Funny Is Funny!".
The goal of this class to create ten (10) minutes of stand-up comedy
material, geared to working in clubs. There is a showcase at NY Improv
Comedy Club where students will perform a six (6) minute set.
If you have any questions about Joseph or his class, feel free to contact
me.

That's that! But if you ask me, voiceovers is sort of a secluded hobby . I need my space |

Erik:
The above indicates why your nice idea won't fly: most of us are spread out over x number of long and latitudes and many are just priming their own wells.
We should, however, find a way to get tohether, and this site ignited a thought in me.
Every month, Voice123 could post a short text. We'd all give it a shot and then critique and vote for the takes. A winner would be declared.
Not only would we be doing what we like to do, but we'd feeding off each other, learning, and winning a monthly T-shirt or mug or certificate or Tone-Y award.
We can meet here in cyberspace.
Anywhere else is unworkable.

I like what robert said, but will V123 help out?
Cyberspace is where we all are, for better or worse. Why not meet there? |

| Hummm, that is not a bad idea at all, let us think about how......there might be a way Voice123 can help or something we can recommend to accomplish this, it might need a little research. |
