Looking for some honest feedback. Yes, this is an audition piece and I struggled all morning with my dreaded s's and mouth noises. I try to audition for most British copy to gain some practice, you wont hurt my feelings as long as your comments are constructive.

Hey Lynne!

I'm hearing an improvement in those s's. One thing I'd like to comment on is that the pacing of this audition is a little off. Put some life into it. Try doing another read with a little more energy, and happiness. Also, the end of the read sounded like a cross of your natural voice and something from Jamaica. Just be yourself, and read it in your, "Lynne" voice. Hope this helps.

cheers,
pax

Great help, I tried to slow down for the s's and forgot to speed up again. I have read in numerous books "smile" while reading, it seems so fake, but I guess it really does come out in the read. Thanks for the imput.

try this lynne. your first couple of reads don't even think about the dreaded s, or any other obstacle that gets in your way. read it as you would naturally, and don't think about those barriers. you should gain confidence with the script, and then go back, and tweak the minor things that you're having a problem with. like many things we do. sometimes we nit pick over the little things so much we forget about the big picture. in this case the whole script. try it, and lemme know.

I am going to play with this for a while, you are so right, you nailed my problem square on, I got caught up in the little issues and forgot about the whole picture!! Be back after playtime.
