i have been wanting to put some demos on my profile for a while, but i have not had access to more professional equipment as of yet. i was wondering if it would be a good idea to just get "something" on there now or wait till i have access to the equipment?
just wanna get the ball rolling a bit further. |

Randall, to be honest, I don't see how you are going to be able to make Voice123 worth your while if you aren't able to produce tracks for your clients. Very little of the work being offered via this service is on location -- most of it requires that the talent be set up to record broadcast-ready material for clients.
You're going to need some sort of setup in order to create audition clips for clients, and while auditions don't require the same quality as production tracks (and shouldn't) they also can't be of such low quality that the client comes to doubt your ability to deliver the finished product.
If you want to make the most of this service I personally feel that you will need a decent home setup in order to compete. |

| Something you might think about purchasing is the Samson C01U (I think that's the model) USB microphone ($80-$100). As far as USB mics go, this one is tops in my book. It still won't be suitable for production work, but it's more than adequate for practice and getting a temporary demo up here for critique. |
