John --

Al Green (ah, but he played this PAST weekend!) and POUTINE -- okay!!! And a brew or two?

Lee --

Les Paul -- yeah, he plays there regularly, I think every week, right? Amazing. Just like Bucky Pizzarelli, over 80 and still touring the world playing. Love keeps you alive and well. Music is love. Pure and simple.

Diane,

Have TONS of fun at the Jazz fest in Montreal! I went in 2003. I'm not even a Jazz fan, but the festival was awesome. You'll love the culture & everything that Montreal has to offer.

Laughing Allison

Thanks, Allison -- I've been to Quebec City and absolutely adore it. Always meant to get to Montreal since my brother goes every year and raves about it. He's left me with a long list of must-sees. And I've got one or two of my own on the list.

You'll enjoy the fireworks everynight along the St Lawrence River. They put on an awesome display all summer long, twice a week. The subway system is very easy to follow, even if you don't speak French. The paths are color coded and the tracks are on rubber. It's much smoother than the subways in NYC.

Enjoy Diane! I want to see pictures when you return.

~Allison~

Man, what a time.... incredible, fabulous week in drop-dead gorgeous Montreal! If you've never been -- please do go. It's a must-see destination. Not exaggerating. A great city for strolling, for sight seeing, for dining -- French flavored but Canadian-hearted for sure. We had the most wonderful time -- and visiting with my friend, the iconic Mr. Jadah, just made it all the more perfect. Fun, fun, fun.

Music, food, dance, music, drink, music -- FESTIVAL de Jazz! Not just jazz, but lots of eclectic stuff, world music, etc. We spent hours and hours there every day, taking in so many musicians I would never otherwise have seen or heard. Bought lots of CDs at the Best Buy booth, too. Played them all on the 5 hour ride home.

Here's a band we discovered. Dance, dance! Cool.

Mr. Something Something. (No really, that's the name.)

Diane...

what a great time you musta had!!! did robert J. treat you to a huge serving of poutine?

Mr. Something Something sounds like another Dave Mathews Band inspired group. Thats not a bad thing. DM brought back much needed rhythm and funk to what passes for 'pop music' these daze... The more bands makin my wanna shake it the better..

our fave puckerbrush home grown band moves in the rhytm/jazz/soul/funk groove, and won some national contest awarding them a spot at a NYC music fest. we're so proud..

a dozen or so years ago my wife and i used to play street hockey w/ the lead singer, and we've been following their regional success ever since..

Oh, yeah! We had the best time.

That's some good stuff, John. Lots of R&B and funk being played around. Mr. J offered no poutine but a pint or two from the country gentleman was much appreciated in the delightfully warm weather.

I much liked these guys that we heard also -- Papa Groove.
