This may be of more interest to the musicians on this forum than others, but some of you may get a kick out of this.

I love to play guitar (and keyboards and other odd instruments. Lately I've really been wanting to get a theremin. Yes, really. http://www.thereminworld.com/)

Anyway, I just bought a very cool little box called a Loop Station that allows you to lay down a track live, then keep adding live layers over it. Basically you can become a one-man band at a gig or show. You've probably seen people do this or use these before. This little box, the Boss RC-2, also has about 40 rhythm tracks you can choose to use, or not, as accompaniment, picking your rhythm style and setting the tempo.

Basically you click it to record and lay down a track, say, 8 bars of a chord pattern. Then you click again to lay down your second track.... maybe a bass line. Then again to lay down a lead guitar bit, and so on, as many layers as you like.

I've attached some lo-quality short snippets of stuff I was just playing with over the last day or two as I tried to learn this little device. In some I used just my electric, in some just my acoustic, and in a couple I used both guitars.

Remember... I'm just having fun here so no scathing music reviews please.

Wink
