Hi geeks! Smile

I recorded a spot today in 16 bit mono, exported it as a wav and the properties say it's 4 bit. What gives and how do I fix it?

what does it sound like?
4 bit would sound horrible at best.
(with a tip of the cap to Colin C)
if it sounds like approximately CD quality it's 16 bit

I agree, 4 bit would be almost inaudible...

I don't mean to question you, but are you sure it's not "24" instead of
"4"?

I'm using Audition. Here's the file exported as a wav and mp3.

I loaded the wav. into Audition, and yes it does say it's saved as a 4 bit file...

I think the problem is, somewhere in the flip menu it was saved as an
ACM Waveform, PHP, WAV...whereas it should be saved as a Windows PCM.

Lee is on to something. Your file was accidentally saved as ADPCM, instead of "normal" PCM. Nothing serious. It happens.
