Anyone know anything about this site?
"Here’s how it works: You post a request, our members record your audio, re-post it for you to download and you get to add the new voice over to your commercial, promo, imaging, narration, or whatever else for FREE! If you need a new voice for a radio/Television commercial, promo, e-book, narration, telephone recording, business recording, presentation and more, The Pro Voice is the site!"

Hummm - Now they posted a gig on Voices dot com
$100 - $250 - now the first question is why didn't they use their own membership --- well I looked at the gig as a "stealth adv" so I guess I answered my own question...
Here is the copy: We are posting a quick audio welcome message for our new site, TheProVoice.com to orient new visitors to our purpose and place in the broadcasting and voice industry. Below is a sample script you may use for audition purposes. The final version will be under 1 minute in length to be submitted as mp3 via email.

You'll notice that the deadline for submissions on that "project" at Voices was some time in August. Who posts a lead in mid-June with an August closing date? That was a bit of a red flag for me suggesting that there really is no job, but they are, as you surmise, putting their demo copy in front of a lot of voice over eyeballs (there's a mixed metaphor!) as a form of self-promotion.
I suppose you do have to give them points for inventiveness. _________________ For more voice over demos, my life story, and other foolishness, please visit my website at www.leegordonproductions.com |

Well, doesn't surprise me -- it's all about NOT PAYING anyone to do anything. That would include advertise.

I was also spammed by this company. I went through their message boards, where I found a section for seekers and providers of VO...it seems someone throws out a script and then some stranger volunteers to record it. No barter, no pay. Call me selfish for wanting to get paid for the work I do...but I don't get it.
They're also reposting job openings from All Access, but that's their problem. |

Clearly it's a spam audition. They've accomplished their task by having us talk about it and some of us going to the site. I wonder how many of the "28" registered users are admin alias' trying to make it look a little more active.
Avoid the audition.
And I predict the site will be dead in 6 months or less. _________________ www.jameslorenz.com/notjustvoiceover |

Sounds like another RadioDaddy. Why anyone would get involved with sites like that is beyond me, but I guess there's a lot of room under the banner.... _________________ Chris Mezzolesta
