John -- Oh, I know IZ and love him -- I have this album -- I adore this song!

Thanks for jumping in with the Remains, Chris. Cool. Not too familiar with them. But I always watched Soupy Sales -- loved him as a kid!

Oh, yes -- the dollar thing! He was ahead of his time. I remember seeing him live at Palisades Amusement Park! Jelly beaners...

Well, here's another "goodbye" oldie -- I went through a Jackson Browne/Eagles phase. This was a favorite. My brother still plays this one at his gigs.

Favorite line;: "then you'll have to eat your lunch all by yourself."
Oh, yeah.

2 more while I lose my mind...

My favorite group after The Beatles (I hesitate to call them 2nd, more like co-1st)

the very wonderful Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band (Neil Innes pre-Rutles/Monty Python, in fact they were the house band on one of the pre-Python UK comedy shows)

"Canyons Of Your Mind" with the legendary Vivian Stanshall out front

A great "performance" of their UK Top 5 hit "I'm The Urban Spaceman", produced by Paul McCartney under the pseudonym "Apollo C. Vermouth"...The contraption that Viv Stanshall is swinging over his head at the end is what you hear on the record at that point, I think it was a trumpet mouthpiece in a long tube - Paul evidently instructed the engineer how to record it by setting up multiple mics!

Fun fun band, and they're back with a new album! www.bonzodog.co.uk

My fellow Beatles fans, a couple of weeks ago I got a MySpace message out of the blue from a guy I worked with more than a dozen years ago and had not heard from since. His name is Ray Whitaker and he hosts a weekly Beatles-oriented radio show (both "real" radio and internet radio) called Just Four Guys. If you'd care to check out the show archives, you can find them here:

Yes indeedy, they came to Apple as The Iveys and had a small UK near-hit with "Maybe Tomorrow", then Paul wrote "Come and Get It" for them for the film "The Magic Christian" and changed their name, and the rest, as they say...Check out Paul's original demo of it on the Anthology 3 set, it could have been his first solo single! Just a shame though that they seem to have been mismanaged, as 2 of the original members committed suicide, both by hanging....yikes. Their music always makes me smile, whether "Day After Day", "No Matter What" or "Baby Blue"...

It was big in New England, but my favorite NRBQ song was "Howard Johnston's Got His HoJo Workin'."

I know it's not Friday night but this was very hard to find and reproduce....

(I've since corrected the spelling in the file name for "Lincoln.")
