Hi everyone

I thought I would post my new reel as I am really pleased with it and I think Simon has done an amazing job bringing it all to life or 'pimping it out' as he likes to call it lol.

I had to cut so many voices out of it but I guess it is good to 'leave people wanting more' right?

He sure did spiff it up. My favorite voice is the little girl "pony" line. That makes me laugh -- the inflection, tone, everything -- is perfect. And I like your delivery on the clip with the ER music background. But, honestly, I don't like the first clip. It is annoying and hurts my ears. There are some "shrieky" clips in there where it's difficult to know what you're saying. Not sure how valuable that is. But the production does make it move really well.

Hi Jenna,

What an amazing array of voices you have! Bravo on a great demo. I especially love your Aussie and WISH I knew how to do that!

I'm not sure that your first clip is your best. Maybe re-think how you lead off the demo. There are other spots on your demo that are much better than the one you're leading off with now.

And your American reads....I get the feeling that you're a native Brit and you're creating an American accent? Because when I listen to your American reads, I can tell that they're a bit forced and your dialect/accent is inconsistent. It's kind of like when you hear an American trying to do a British read and not quite pulling it off....Forgive me for pointing this out but I'm a Brit that does thousands of American reads, so I'm hyper-sensitive to either a Brit-doing-American, or American-doing-Brit....And I agree with Melba in that sometimes I can't quite discern what you're saying.....

You have a beautiful voice and LOVE your characters! My only suggestions would be to perfect your American read so no-one can tell it's not your native tongue and maybe rethink the order of your spots. (Of course never having done a character demo, let alone one that's as amazing as yours, you can tell me and my opinions to sod off!) ducken

Great demo!

xox

Cheers Maxine, and I'd never tell you to sod off lol.

I think I do have a tendancy to lose the American accent when I am doing a character voice especially when i am trying to deliver a funny line. Definitely something I would like to work on, particularly as my natural accent is VERY strong British heh.

I think I would like to replace that first spot with something else but I'm just not sure what yet.
