Got up early this morning and produced one spot for a regular client and then got this lead and decided to give it a try before the "storm" hits. They asked for a "storyteller" type delivery. Guess I should get dressed now.

Deby -- I'm sure you didn't recognize Vince Lombardi. Even if you knew what he was supposed to sound like, it was not very close.

Sid -- That was perfect!

It must have been "John Wayne Day" over at Voices as not one but two leads called for a demo evocative of teh Duke.

The "Rural Delivery" piece was seeking an impersonation. The "Law Enforcement" piece was looking for a John Wayne-like flavor.

Come to think of it, neither one of these is all that different from the Howard Cosell I posted yesterday.

My take on the Serling, Reagan, & JFK. Just threw Rooney in for the heck of it.

Thanks Lee. I'll tell ya....I'm always very impressed with everyone's impressions here. One reason is because I can't do them...although I CAN do a great "Big Bopper" vocal if called for. I once asked my good friend John Galt (voice of LBJ in JFK and The Right Stuff) what it IS about impressions. He told me that "you either have it or you don't". I do not have "it" so I'll accept that and not audition or advertise any impressions.

Though I feel I can "do" quite a few people and characters successfully, the following thought occurred to me (inspired by Robert Klein)...

Chris -- Not a bad Sheldon Leonard.

Lance & Colin -- Solid work on the baseball guy. I contemplated adding SFX but decided not to. Here's mine. Nothing special.

Here's my baseball piece...
I thought this one had to be produced.

also the Salad works on hold message -- which contained quite a tongue twister...
"The nation's first and largest fresh tossed salad franchise..."

good job on the tongue twister, Michael.

This TOS lead was for a "trailer" for a comic/graphic novel about athletes that are also superheroes. There was no script, and I don't have an appropriate trailer reel...so it was time to get the ol' noggin' going and make lemonade from lemons.

I would NEVER have posted this, because honestly I don't think it's that good, but after hearing all of the other attempts at impersonations I feel a little less self-conscious. I think everyone has a strong area and some weak areas, but then, none of us are professional impersonators are we? Here goes.....

Lead today for political podcasts - look like a great way to keep up-to-date with at least one side of what's happening in the news, but it is another of those jobs that ties you to the studio every day at a specific time. Trying to work the Pros and Cons...

Pros:
- Regular work = regular $$

Cons:
- No budget range provided (TBD) - so there is no way to guess what they are expecting to see (only 3 auditions at the moment) and if it would be worth carving out the time every day.
- The requirement to be in the studio every day at a specific time
