Hi Martin,
GREAT VOICE and delivery! I don't think the problem is anything but the sound quality you are providing. Have a technical guy come to your studio and troubleshoot your set up. If the recording isn't warm and rich enough, they won't want it, right? That has nothing to do with your obvious talent, it's just logisitics!

Hey Martin,
I just listened to your demo and I have mixed feelings. You have these phenomenal deep James Earl Jones pipes that every guy would envy having. But the demo is, in my opinion, really weak. It's low quality and needs energy, professionalism and pacing. It sounds like something you made at home in your spare time. You say you've been in radio 15 years (I've been in it for 29years now! Arrrrrrgh!), so I KNOW you have access to good studio eqpt. and music libraries, not to mention probably a ton of spots you've done that you've archived somewhere. So for starters, I'd do an all-new demo that shows your total professionalism.
Next: From the demo it sounds like you might only have one voice style - that deep rich Barry White sound. If so (and I could be wrong) you'll be very limited in who will use you, because everyone is looking for something different.
I don't know if this will help, but I'm posting a demo I have out there that's nothing more than my radio spots put together to show different styles. It's old and dated and I desperately need to update it, but I HAVE been successful in pulling down a handful of jobs off this site.
Good luck and let me know how it goes! |

Hi Martin!
Yep, great pipes. I think Scott and Caroline are 100% dead-on. Those demos are waaaay too noisy. |
