Dave,
Many of us know that our personal beliefs shouldn't matter when it comes to VO acting. I'm a fan of yours and have been for quite some time. You can say "Viva Sadam Hussein" and make it believable. I'll never hold it against you.
Congrats on the job!
~Allison~

Dave, it rubs me exactly the right way. But you already knew that.
Congrats. They picked the right guy, and the right voice.
Pure DeAndrea, there.

Awesome Dave... congrats!!!
Not too long ago, I voiced an ad for Planned Parenthood and for a state's campaign about adoption in the same week. I admit, I was REALLY torn about doing one of those ads (won't say which one)... but I figure my voice is simply the vehicle. The ad's going to be out there one way or another.

Not to threadjack, but why not since we're heading in that direction?
I make no secret of my Christian faith, nor do I flog anyone across the face with it. However I answered a lead on another site not fully aware of what it was all about. It dealt with religion and the lead seemed in line with my own beliefs.
I landed the job and found out it was an intense narration for a presentation on Hinduism, which in certain areas conflicts with my own beliefs. But I was already well into working with the client and had to make a decision as to whether to leave him hanging or fulfill my commitment to him. I talked to my wife about it and we agreed that neither the world, or my faith, would be compromised or upset if I did the job I'd agreed to do. The client was great, and he also knew about my faith, so we were very upfront with each other about it. As a matter of fact, he asked me more than once if I was okay about voicing it. I felt it was a better example of the spirit of what I believe in to deliver the best possible job to this fine man, than to leave him in the lurch.
It all ended up well and I feel in my heart I did the right thing.

There was quite a lively thread on this topic at Julie's forum if anyone's interested -- about voicing projects that conflict with your values, etc.

I too was rubbed right lol
This is a great VO It sounds really believable. Not scripted (I am new to VO so my words might not be correct but that is what it sounded to me) It was honest.
