I'm starting a phone messaging job and just recently began quoting prices per word (versus/minute as I was recently doing).
How many words would this be considered?
"8:30 pm" (as in the time - eight thirty pm)
Please let me know what you think. (sorry if it seems like a silly question, but I'd like to charge appropriately)
Thanks |

Since 8 o'clock is two words, and midnight is one
And Three after Six is three, and dead air is none.....I would say that eight-thirty-peeEm is three words.
Of course, I think Dr. Seuss makes perfect sense.

The more words the merrier Thanks for you input, Colin.
keep the replies coming, I'd like to see what everyone thinks.
ALSO, what about phone numbers (123-456-7890). Are they considered one LONG word or is each number considered a word? I didn't think too much about those things until I actually got this job which has numbers and times and things throughout it. |

Each number is a word. This is not necessarilly just for pricing things write but for timing. 123-456-7890 LOOKS like one long word but think about it. For timing, you SAY "ONE TWO THREE FOUR FIVE SIX SEVEN EIGHT NINE ZERO." It takes ten words "in time" to say it. _________________ www.ColinCampbellVoice.com
