I proposed going from Alpha directly to Omega, but, for some reason, religious people found my suggestion disturbing. Go figure _________________ Alex Torrenegra

I am religious and that doesn't bother me, the problem I see is where do you go from there Alex? _________________ 865-686-8925

If you meant “Where do you go from Beta and ‘Going Live’?”, the answer is easy: I will go on vacation!
If you meant “Where do you go from Omega?”, that is quite a philosophical – and “touchy” for many - question that I have no idea how to properly answer here Maybe one day, over a couple of wines of beers, we can try to find the answer together! _________________ Alex Torrenegra

Hey I am a phlilosophic kind of guy. I like the bigger questions.
I don't drink though so make mine a Diet Dr. Pepper. But lets wait until after you get back from vacation and we can wear ties to freak Freddie out! _________________ 865-686-8925

Upsilon is the 20th letter of the Greek alphabet and hardly ever used at all, usually talking a back seat to it's sister epsilon, the 5th letter of the Greek alphabet.
Now if we exhaust the letters of the greek alphabet we could move on to the cyrillic. |

Communication of your progress in development is essential to keeping us around.
I sounds as if we'll realize some very significant improvements and I'd be happy to beta for you folks.
Good luck, best wishes...

Because you asked for it, here is the second of many short updates in reference to the New Voice123
This is the first time I am going to be blogging on a frequent basis. So please bear with me and give your feedback so that I can improve my blogging techniques.
So far, we have successfully alpha-tested around 13 out of the 20 major NEW systems that are part of the New Voice123. Two systems are almost done in terms of alpha-testing. Three more are currently being tested and will be finished within a few days. The two other, hopefully, will finish alpha-testing early next week.
Once we complete all alpha-testing, we would have reached the alpha milestone. It is then that we will be announcing all of the new features of the New Voice123.
PS. Keep an eye on this blog and I promise you will learn about all of the new features of the New Voice123 before everybody else does – You can automatically subscribe to the Voice123 blog using the RSS feed http://voice123.com/blog/feed/

| Quote: | Hello!
It has been a week since my last update and there is a reason for it: I have been really busy testing features and tasting Chinese Dim Sum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dim_sum).
First of all, I want to clarify something: Although I write “I” many times, “I” couldn’t do much if it wasn’t for the help of many people at Voice123 and Torrenegra MarketLabs. Whatever I report to you in this blog is the result of more than 10 people working full-time on this project, plus many other helping every now and then. THANK YOU!
Where are we now with the New Voice123? I was supposed to test three systems over the previous weekend that were already checked by the QA team. Unfortunately, Saturday afternoon I found a roadblock: Windows Vista started to freeze every 20 minutes or so. Why? I guess it has to do with the fact that I installed Vista on my new Mac Book Pro. I know, I know, shame on me for installing an OS not yet supported by BootCamp (http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/). It took me around 10 hours before I completed removing the Vista install and I had XP and Mac OS working again using Parallels. The 10 hours included moving all my docs and toys to XP back from Vista. It has worked pretty well since then. Why do I want XP running on a Mac? Easy: that way I can randomly test the new features of Voice123 in both systems.
I took Sunday off to enjoy the Chinese New Year celebrations at Chinatown in Manhattan. (They had fireworks this year!) I restarted QA on Monday. Almost all the new features and systems tested this week passed my QA with no issues at all. There was only one system with problems: the new project management system for voice seekers. It failed some major requirements. MarketLabs is currently working on fixing them. There is another system, which I cannot mention yet, that has been delayed more than expected and that I haven’t been able to test yet. If everything goes well, I will be able to test it early next week.
All these updates mean that the alpha milestone should be reached sometime next week . Once we get there, and as a gift to our blog readers, we will publish all of the new features of the New Voice123 here before we send an email to all of the users of Voice123. Stay tuned! |

| Quote: | Hello!
We are very excited at Voice123 and Torrenegra MarketLabs, (Torrenegra MarketLabs is the development team of Voice123) because we have reached the Alpha Milestone of the New Voice123!
This means that all the major features and improvements of the New Voice123 have been coded, and we will now start to correct minor details and test everything again to reach the Beta Milestone. When we reach Beta, many of you will be able to test the system for a few weeks before it gets released live to all of our users. If you’re interested in becoming a beta tester for the New Voice123, please visit http://voiceoversavvy.com/viewtopic.php?t=987
Reaching the Alpha Milestone also means that, as promised, we are making public the list of the major improvements and new features that will be part of the New Voice123.
If you are Voice Seeker (a person looking for voices), please click here to see the video that lists the new features and improvements the New Voice123 will have for you.
If you are a Talent or Voice Producer, please click here instead. There are many new features for you as well.
Please note that not all features all listed there. Also, please feel free to ask inThe voice over Savvy Forum (http://voiceoversavvy.com) whatever you want to know about the new features. We will try to answer all of your questions promptly.

| Quote: | Two months ago we reached the alpha milestone of the New Voice123. We are now getting close to reaching the beta milestone. Most of the bugs and corrections we found before the alpha milestone was reached have been fixed, and are now being tested. As a matter of fact, almost half of the new systems and features of the New Voice123 have been already approved for beta. Reaching beta means that the system is ready to be tested by many of you. A couple of weeks after beta, the system will be published for all of you to use.
The New Voice123 is full of nice surprises. Here are some we have never before mentioned:
> The New Voice123 will have an improved sign-in mechanism with improved
password protection.
> The new messaging system will allow you to contact other talents, without
asking you to create a voice seeker’s account.
> The New Voice123 will allow you to double check your audition or proposal
before you submit it. No more costly mistakes when auditioning.
You may experience the New Voice123 before most people do. Simply apply to become a beta tester for the New Voice123. You can find more info at

| Quote: | The New Voice123 Will Open to Beta Testers June 15th!
What does this mean to you? This means that you will get to experience the new Voice123, including all of its new features and improvements, in a few weeks. We will notify you via email when the release date is defined.
What is "beta testing"? Beta testing is the last stage of testing for a software product like Voice123. It was preceded by "alpha testing". During alpha testing, members of the Voice123 Team performed thousands of quality assurance tests in the new Voice123. We did it in such a rigorous way, that we expect the beta testing phase to be over quickly.
We will encourage beta testers to publicly share their experiences with the new Voice123 in the VoiceOverSavvy Forums. Check it out after June 15th, so that you can learn more about the New Voice123, even if you are not a beta tester. By the way, you can still apply to become a beta tester. Instructions on how to apply can be found here: http://voiceoversavvy.com/ftopic987.html
We are very happy about making this announcement, as this means that we are one step closer to offering you a better experience! Some of us are also closer to taking a long-expected vacation break! |
