Posting the Free SFX site reminded me of another great resource for producers....

Hey everybody out there...let's keep this thread alive. Tell us more about free or reasonably priced background tracks we can access.

I just started a site to post free music beds. There are only a few pieces up there now but as I produce more I will post them there. I am also asking any of my friends that are musicians to produce pieces so they can perhaps get their music heard. I stumbled over this post and thought I would add this. Hopefully someone can use something they find there.

Hi all-

This post is very timely for me. I have been approached by several local merchants here in Syracuse who would like me to do fully-produced spots for them for radio. I have adequate recording equipment, but I currently do not have any usable royalty-free music beds, nor any production elements for that matter. I better find some fast....

I would greatly appreciate it if you folks could steer me to the best and most reasonably priced libraries for someone starting out- something comprehensive stylistically to cover the bases for background music and production elements.....??

How about Sound Snap. It has about 36548 user submitted and freely available sounds and music tracks. Consider it a one stop shop for music and sound effects.

I clicked on the freeboxaudio link and it went to an All-Star Flooring site.

Paul, I'm a composer of original, mostly ambient/techno music and wouldn't mind donating a cut or two to your site, but when I went there I couldn't figure out any way to upload or donate a song.

Help please?

You know, Soundsnap really is awesome. I was there four times just today, but does it seem really slow after about the third page to anyone else?

It happens to me every time.

Hi guys. The music I've heard from this service is pretty good:

Instant Background Music

I admit that I'm slightly biased as that's my voice in his demo. Wink But I met the fellow through my songwriting website originally, not through anything to do with my voice overs. And the price is pretty good ... though I haven't actually downloaded the full package myself.

If you do try it out, let me know what you think.

I would also recommend SoundSnap. They're awesome. My first demo, that's where we got all our effects.

All the best,

--Jodi

Sorry about the freeboxaudio site... that's probably frustrating. They must've closed up shop! There was some really good stuff on there.

Or maybe they just decided they could make more money selling flooring. Laughing
