Oh, and some Ryan Adams. This guy is so talented. Almost reminds me of a young Van Morrison.

It's not Sunday, but here's a look at the future of music composition....

Kim... that's neat and not that distant from how I create my music. I don't play my songs all the way through when I record them. I record bits and pieces and bytes and lay them down, then loop and repeat and layer them. The attached screenshot is the final project of one of my most complex songs, a short little 3:00 piece that took, off and on, about 4 months or more to complete. Each little audio block is something different, perhaps a sound effect or a guitar lick or a keyboard pattern or just a bassline. But I lay it down one element at a time until I end up with what I want, adding and subtracting pieces as I go along; moving pieces around, duplicating some elements and repeating them.

Scott, I would suggest that you look into upgrading to AA 3.0. There are a few new nifty editing tools that make fading and cross fading (and some other stuff) a whole lot easier in multitrack view that I think would come in handy for you.

Sure, but you gotta give Scott credit for composing music without the use of a sequencer like Cubase, Acid or Logic Very Happy

I know I know, Erik. It all comes down to $$$. I haven't even put aside what I need to get this darned cd burned and on the market yet. Plus we have hospital bills to pay, yadda yadda. Upgrading would be NICE but it's not a NECESSITY right now.

Since I'm always at the radio station on Sundays, I'll have to post this week's addition early. Here's an original piece off of my first cd. This is called (appropriately enough for Atlanta, considering the past two days): "Rain Song".

So here we go, guys... Sunday's here!

By the way, M... that Sylvie Lewis-piece was wonderful!

Here's two tracks feat. British singer Tracey Thorn of "Everything But The Girl", one of my favorite electronic bands. If you're not familiar with Tracey, you'll notice she does not have either the biggest nor best voice in the business. Actually it's a little boring. But it's so melancholic and sincere. NO fancy vibrato or other stuff. I love it.

Enjoy your sunday night, friends.

its been a long long, long time since seeking solace in this sanctuary...
there are so many entrancing singers in this world that i regret having only one lifetime to hear them all...
allow me to share w/ you Ethiopian singer Ejigayehu "Gigi" Shibabaw ..
For you ambient music fans, she is married to ambient music pioneer, composer, bassist, producer Bill Laswell..

Enjoy Well

Mr. Bigl,

Now I'm even more chagrined that I missed your party for Lise last night.
You, Sir, are one of many VO's I just have to meet.
As I understand it, folks, Mr. Bigl is a rumbling voicer/roofer from NH: a Buddhist hockey fanatic who appreciates the music of Ejigayehu Shibabaw.

Does it get any more intriguing than that?

Bigl On!

but, i have done a few phone answering system gigs for painting customers... and i always charge the appropriate fee so as not to depress the rate... oh, and a 6 month buyout... well, a gig is a gig, right? Very Happy

Go Bruins !!!
