Hi ... I am still new at this but I use Sony MDR XD-100 headphones and a Samson C03U Condenser Mic... I get delay or echo through the headphones and speakers ... I have a onboard Realtek Soundcard ... Does anyone no how to get rid of echo .... I see and read that you are siuppose to monitor yourself using Headphones .... I can't record with headphones on with echo ... Does it really matter or help to monitor yourself while you are recording during a VO session ??? ... Thask for any help advice you may have ... Paul

what software are you using?

see if there is a place to reduce the latency setting either in your recording software, or the software that came with your soundcard

you also might be recording thru the microsoft windows driver, which has an unbelievable amount of delay (latency)

see if you can find an asio driver that works with your sound card...asio is specifically designed to reduce delay if you are recording thru software..

if all else fails, find your yourself a small mixer so you can monitor thru the mixer, rather than the software..

He's using a USB mic, so a conventional mixer is not an option.

I wasn't aware that mic was a USB, and what threw me off was he said he was using a soundcard.
