So what is the alternative to get notices about job opening short of highering an agent? V123 sends leads you cant audition for and your profile will not be retrieved through their search function unless you are a premium member. I have also had to search out my own VO gigs. For those who are newbies, they may not have the ability to do that efficiently. Any thoughts?

Mike,
If you don't want to spend the $295 for V123, that's your choice. Most premium members can't pay off a Porche with their income at this sight. However; If you want to network yourself as a VO talent, V123 is one of many online tools that allow you to do so.

In yrs past, VO artists had to audion at local studios, some of them as far as 300 miles away, and hope they'd get a job. Because the world is so "internet related", many VO talents have built home studios and audtion from home. Enter the world of voice over Auditioning online, except you pay to audition for it.

Many of the experienced pros at this site and at TOS, pay the $295, $195, and other misc fees to be members. Many of them get their money back times 5. Some do not, but with training, experience, patience and practice... the sights do pay for themselves in the long run.

How much are you willing to invest? The best suggestion I've heard here (and I'm paraphrasing)... take acting lessons, seek a qualified vocal coach, practice, and recycle everything I've just said. Invest in a website. Once you've done that, give it a few more years and you should start to generate some revenue from VO's if you have what it takes.

You have to invest hard earned dollars to sound professional. And even after that, there are thousands of others who sound just as professional. Competition is the name of the game. Do you want to play? If so, then go for it!!!

Good Luck. TTYL Allison

Allison:

I agree with you that V123 is allows for networking and competition. I will be purchasing premium membership. Waiting to finish my studio construction. I tossed out the thought to maybe spark ideas for newer people who have less experience than you or I.

Thanks for commenting
