My portable rig is:
Macbook Pro 2.2 Intel Core 2 Duo w/2 Gigs RAM, Pro Tools, MBox 2 Factory, Sennheiser 416.
The reason I went with this is because my studio gear is a PowerMac G5 and I virtually have my MacBook Pro mirror my studio system...it makes for much faster workflow.

I have 2 PC laptops that I jockey in and out. I know a lot of people are pro Mac, not sure why.
Right now the MicPort Pro is my main USB interface, as I haven't had much luck getting the Fast Track Pro to work with any consistency (not to mention getting through to their tech support can be so much fun.) By the way, my main rig has the MicPort Pro coming out of my Aphex 230 preamp; RE-20 mike. Sounds pretty decent. |
