This evening I received a call from a voice over friend of mine who is watching the the NBC Voice-Off voting on my blog with great interest and enjoyment. He said he wanted to make it even more interesting and asked if he could donate a prize.
I said that wasn’t really necessary but he cut me off and shut my mouth when he said the prize was a MXL 008 Large Gold Diaphragm USB Condenser Microphone. He wants to remain anonymous (what a character!) So this prize will be included to one of the top three vote getters. What a gracious and unexpected donation, thank you!
If you are a voice talent in this voice-off, right about now would be the time I’d start contacting friends, family and anyone who owes you a favor to LEGITIMATELY place their votes. The voting will be open for at least another week.
There isn't another professional I know of (that doesn't make you wear a collar or a habit) where folks are so damn generous like VO folks are. Simply wow. _________________ - Peter

My thoughts, too, Scott. But that's okay. Problem is, I went to Peter's link and there must be 50 people who sent in their auditions. I love these folks but I can't sit thru 50 auditions to cast a vote. _________________ Scott R. Pollak

Scott,
I'll save you some time...you can skip mine
Actually, since the clips are all so short- it doesn't take very long to go through them...and it is well worth it! _________________ www.karaedwardsvo.com

I didn't enter, so save your time (oh no I didunt!)
I haven't voted yet, but I've listened to about half of them (including Kara... ). What strikes me is how superior most of the reads are to Mikey's in both terms of delivery and techinical quality of the recording.
I was visiting family last week and heard Mikey's "read" on several different home theaters. It sounds disgusting. No other way to put it. I hope they can save him from the sunken submarine in which he recorded it before he runs out of air. _________________ BEAT LA!!! BEAT LA!!! BEAT LA!!!

Tough choice. I voted...
Souer
Whilkins
Miles
Rare that I'd put anyone above Thom but Souer can get it done.
Miles sounds close to the previous voice. Very "newsy."

Hey, isn't the evening news really like the Disney World of news? Why not vote for a younger female voice... like Kara's or myself!! (though my take on that wasn't exactly my young sound).
Ha ha... just kidding. Though, I loved your take, Kara. I could see the smile and excitement right thru my headset!! _________________ Caryn Clark... THE Hip Chick Voice!
