Critical for all on this board!

Sorry... too much free time on my hands.
(Original music, though)

I can see it now: "LarynxAid '07" with guest performers Don LaFontaine, Jon Rivers, James Earl Jones, and special guest appearance by Bobcat Goldthwait.

Superb...brings a tear to my eye, beautiful...and to think I'm one of these sad lonely socially challenged artists that can create such wonder and despair all in the same mp3...where's my scotch...

So Scott-
I was wondering, do you ever get one of those lose threads on your tie. You know down toward the end. I never know whether pull it or cut it. Usually after I think about it for a few hours I decide to wait to address it until the next time I wear the tie. When it comes up in the cycle again, the first thing I do is make sure it is still there. Not sure what I am thinking. Like maybe there is a tie fairy in my closet or something. Once I thought it was gone, but it had just flipped up behind and gotten stuck on the back. I wonder how it stuck there? It could be static electricity, or maybe silk has some property that makes it stick to itself. If it does have that property do you think it has to be 100% silk. I remember this silk shirt I had when I was a kid. It had tigers on it. It was really cool. I asked a girl out for the first time while wearing that shirt. She said yes too. Anyway, that shirt was 100% silk, but it didn't stick to itself. Maybe it is static electricity after all. I like taking a balloon and rubbing it on my head and then raise it slowly so the static electricity will lift my hair up. I can actually feel my hair lifting. Have you ever done that? Ohh and my favorite balloon trick is to hold the opening just right so the air makes that really annoying noise while it escapes. My wife always says I act just like a kid when I do that stuff, but I don't think most children really understand static electricity or the underlying principles of friction and opposite electrical charges storing energy on the surface of an object. I tried to explain that to my four year old nephew after rubbing my feet on the carpet and shocking him, but he just kept crying. My Sister-In-Law has never really liked me. I have a Brother-In-Law who is a pretty good guy. He treats my Sister well and is a pilot. One time when we were at a wedding, his tie got tangled up in a balloon string. I just knew it was static electricity that caused it, but when I tried to explain it to him, he didn't understand either. We finally got it untangled, but it caught on his fingernail and pulled a thread loose on his tie. My Sister tried to make him cut it with fingernail clippers, but I suggested he give the tie fairies a chance.

Ohh man look at the time, I could have made a really funny fake PSA if I had used my time wisely. Wink

Thank you, Scott for extending a hand to people in need.

I'm Nikki Saco. And I'm a VO junkie.

George--

Thank you for your wonderful essay. Thought-provoking, educational, heartwarming, hilarious. Have you thought about trading in your microphone for a typewriter?

Smile

Amy-
Glad you liked it, if you ever need a humoruos speech (or a serious one) and must have it knocked out in an hour let me know. I wrote that post in about five minutes. Stupid inane things just have a way of tumbling forth out of my head.

I have always loved writing. Really anything creative.

But I have always been good at technical stuff and negotiating so I did that for 20 years to pay the bills.

I am trying to explore my "creative" side more now.

Anyway, I am going to keep trying the mic side right now. I know I have a long way to go, but I have plenty of time.

cheers,

Nikki-
Too funny! You managed to hit every drug cliche in the book.

Nice job!

Oh crap, now you started something Scott. I'll be up 'til three AM now after 10 auditions, fully produced, I'll have to come up with a VO PSA too! I'll put that project at the end of the list so after my Friday night libations, I will look and feel my best for the part. Damn pesky workplace gets in the way of my auditions... and my drinkin' If I don't get to it, you'll know why.

Nikki....I want to help. I felt your pain.
Go cold turkey; it's the only way.
Listen, come live with me.
You'll never get close to the mic again.
It's for your own good.
Please, Nikki.
Before it's too late.

(That was boffo, Girl)
