And do you belch that as "double-you" or "dubba-you"?
I mean, come on...we need to be able to understand it. |

...... $75 for EIGHTEEN FRIGGIN' MINUTES?????!!! And what's amazing is at this time 138 "talents" had answered it!!!! Holy poopchute!
Now admittedly I DID send a generic answer for a $50 one-minute phone message. That's bare minimum, but doable.
And then there was this one:
"This is a Five Minute or less Question and Answer conversation between a man and a lady.
The Man is the Prospect asking the questions.
The Lady is with the company giving the answers.
Q is the man, A is the lady.
We have a Budget of $75 and need both a mp3 and a wav file. " |
Scott, We really appreciate you bringing these up to us and for a fact we`ll check on to these right away. |

I blew off that second one. Man.... the site shouldn't have even allowed it. Pretty soon we'll see... "hey... do this one for free and there will be work down the road for you." How many times have you heard that? _________________ www.ColinCampbellVoice.com

Slightly off topic but anyway. With voice123 v2.0 is there going to be any change to the membership banding (kind of all or nothing at the moment)?
The alternative idea I was thinking of, if this was not going to change, was that as most self respecting pro VO's won't go for anything under $150 or perhaps $200 (and lets face it why should they, they're pro's!) why not let the non fee-payers fight it out for the scraps? My plan would shape up along these lines:
1./ Anything under $150 is a free for all
2./ membership allows ability to apply for ALL posts/auditions
This might help prevent, those who are desperate for work, from undercutting as much as they don't have to fork out for leads in the first place.
It would also give those financially bereft a chance to pull in some work (if they're good enough of course) allowing them to A) know if they're good enough to try paying for this, and B) give them that little extra to be able to pay for the membership. Several people appear to be disgruntled by having to pay $200 for a membership that effectively guarantees nothing other than access to leads.
I'm not trying to re-write your business plan but from a customer service point of view makes more sense in my eyes as might help cut the wheat from the chaff a bit and allow those hunting for small leads a bit more of a carrot if they are seriously trying to make it...or it might create a more elitist group and detract from your overall profits, that's for you to discuss.
Well that's my thought of the day, take it or leave it and feel free to ignore my blatherings. |

Dan,
We really appreciate your comments, unfortunately voice123 is not releasing a lot of details regarding the upcoming version. The good news are that now the release is very close and you all should be receiving information very soon.
Please be patient. |

Dan-
Those are excellent thoughts and perhaps they should let you rewrite part of their business plan. _________________ 865-686-8925

Thanks for the vote of support George, much appreciated, however I don't know where the company want to be in 5-10 years time, don't know what the current strategy is or whether anything I've said would even fit in their business plan.
I just put it out there for consideration and happy to have it looked at. I'm not a business/project manager, just worked in customer services most my life and thought another perspective might help. |

A few days ago...I don't recall...Amy S. put up a schedule of pricing for long form. Amy, if you or anyone else would please post it again, and also post pricing for voicemail and other things, that would be great. I have the list of suggested pricing from V123, but some items are left out. It's also good to understand just what goes into some of these kinds of jobs and how pricing is arrived at in different situations.
Thanks in advance! _________________ Phyllis K. |

Phyllis,
I thought Amy's pricing guidelines were great, so I copied and pasted 'em into a word .doc that I filed away. Here they are:
1-2000 words .30 a word
2000-4000 words .25 a word
4000-10,000 words .20 a word
10,000-40,000 words .15 a word
40,000 words + .10 a word _________________ Scott R. Pollak

| Those prices are based on one audio file. If there are multiple files, as in phone or kiosk prompts, I add .05 per word to each category. I got these (non-union) prices, by the way, from a very reputable VO agency. |
