What Voicebank told me regarding premium service for actors

Well, since none of the folks on here could tell me about the Premium service for voice talent at Voicebank, including apparently the ones that have it, I called down to them and had a lovely chat with Amber at Voicebank.net, who says you are all welcome to call her and ask questions and their site lists a toll free number.

First of all, in order to qualify for the premium service, you need to already be listed in voicebank through one of their member talent agents or talent services. You would show up in their roster.

For the annual sum of $219 and a one time fee of $49 they will take all of your listings (all demos from all agents rosters that you are in) that currently reside on Voicebank and apparently any that might be added during the duration of your preferred annual period, and they will bold your name and addd a red star to it and also a hyperlink to your personal website.

The idea is to have you "stand out" from the rest of the talent and provide someone browsing your agency's roster with a way to get more indformation from you and/or access to more of your demos.

Currently, only 4 of the agents or agent services DO NOT allow for their talent to feature the hyperlink. (Apparently they do not wish potential client's to be able to deal directly with the talent.)

The other agent's do support the feature. Either they trust their talent, don't care or aren't aware of the feature.

Of the several thousand talent listed, 250 thus far have taken advantage of the premium service. I'm not sure if it works or not, but accoriding to Amber, of the people up for renewal, 98% have chosen to continue the service for a second year. It's a figure that's hard for me to believe, but this is what I was told.

For the moment I am starless, chosing not to be bold and hyperlinked. If this should change at any time in the future, expect a press release and suitable gala event to coincide.

I suspect that many of you are hoping to get with the agent that will get you into Voicebank.net to start. Good Luck. Then it's a simple matter of $268 to get the star and be bold.

Hi J.S. First of all, I agree that the people at Voicebank are very professional and were able to answer all of my questions when I was added to the site. There are a lot of opinions regarding the premium link, but I did it and I will do it again. It is expensive, but with so many people doing what we do, I feel like it's an investment in marketing to make your name stand out...at all. This is my first post on this site by the way, so hello!

JS - Thanks so much for researching that. I wonder how many folks go out to voicebank to look for talent, versus just the agent site?

I might just make the investment and see if it helps. We'll see.
