Hello! I do a lot of commercial voice-work, but not much phone hold work. Today a client contacted me about a long-term phone hold opportunity for a variety of different clients. Different length scripts; lots of variety. Do I price per word, per page, based on total recording time, etc? I'd appreciate some input. Thanks.

I'd be interested in hearing about this too. I was contacted yesterday by phone but had no idea what sort of rates to give him! For now, I whipped something up based on offer I had received from an on hold company a long time ago that never worked out.

Christina, Michelle:
Good going! Glad for you!
Our reigning Queen Bee, Amy Snively, does phone prompts and even outlined her rates here somewhere.
I believe it might be in the Big Bucks thread at General Chit Chat.
If not, dig up her posts and scroll all night.
Again...I salute your success.

(I charge .35 a word, $100 minimum, and get it routinely. Good luck my friends!)
