Here is another source for the pronounciation of 'current' names -- and in some instances there is an audio clip.

First off thanks all for the great resources. They are ALL bookmarked and each one was a help in one way or another.

It's been awhile since I've run into such horrid script that it was unrecordable.

When I went back to the client to have them get the thing re-written or hire me to do it, they dropped me from the project.

Much grief avoided. Large invoice missed. Just as well. Smile

Ron, I put the same pressure on the client. After I finished the latest batch of scripts I chatted again with the client. He was a bit critical of some of my reads, saying I wasn't making it conversational enough. That did it! I asked him how conversational he could make a list of disjointed words that had no flow, sounded as if a 3rd grader had submitted it at the last minute and was full of mixed tense. I said if he wanted a conversational read, the script had to be written that way. I stated that if he wanted more out of me, then I needed to get more out of him. If the scripts weren't going to change, I could not invent a good read out of them. He then gave me the option to get out of the contract and he would pay me for the number of scripts I had finished. I said yes.

tis sad, but true.

While not having heard the conversation, I'm quite surprised by the client's response.

I'm surprised he was willing to pay for what he had already received.

Which means we should be seeing a lead for this project showing up here on V123 any day now!

I was a bit surprised as well how smoothly it went. I was looking to pick a fight and willing to write off the 30 hours I had put into it to that point as a very costly lesson just so I didn't have to see another such script.

For that reason, if given a different job from that same company (and having specific stated conditions up front) I'd work for them again.
