Hey Karen,
I know what you mean about branding yourself being uncomfortable.
It realllly hurts!
There are a few people who would gladly line up to poke me with burning sticks, but the less said about them the better!
...these are typically people who would also never send me a love note....

Steve Darling,
I listened to your voice and the doggy at the microphone just doesn't suit you. Perhaps it's my American perspective, but when I think of a dog I think of an american voice. How about a royal flush poker hand? Poker is played by the low class chumps as well the high rollers. Not to mention it's very popular right now....I personally think ESPN has lost it's marbles calling it a sport I mean you only sweat out of nervousness, not like it's high impact cardio.

Hi Deby,
I had a word with Darcy the Spanner-Chewing Wonder Mutt, and he definitely has an Aussie accent. I tried getting him to do a few others, too and he seems to have a pretty good range.
But, for some reason, the only accents he has trouble with are American and Tibetan!
However, he does do a very passable Chewbacca impersonation. I'll have to record it sometime.
Royal Flush....hmmm...that has some rather negative connotations for me. When I was a grubby little schoolkid, the Royal Flush was the act of bigger kids sticking a smaller kid's head down the toilet and flushing it.
Needless to say, my name saw me cop a fair few of them!
Apart from that, the poker hand is a good idea!
I can't understand how they can call poker a sport either.
Maybe they need to develop "Extreme Poker"
If they were playing Texas Hold 'em while mountain biking naked and blindfolded down the side of Mount Everest, they really
could call it a sport!

NOW I WOULD PAY TO SEE THAT!!!....lol
Do you get a medical show called House down under. There is an aussie on the show and I have noticed that one of the pain reliever patches is using either his voice or one simular.....If you can imitate him put something "doctorish" on your demo. We also get Outback Steakhouse Resterant commercials.
I've never seen or heard that aussie dog, but I do remember Spuds Mckinzee.....he didn't even talk....just played the drums and sold beer. I'm sure I'm misspelling his last name though.

This is turning into a comedy routine better than second city or Sat. night live. Or at least, we could write a fab skit now about names and brands and handles. You all are fab. Thanks for the huge laughs. I had not been on this part of our board for about five days, read all the threads, and am still wiping my eyes...don't say that...I heard it!!!!! Ok you guys, keep it clean...shut up...don't say that either!!!! And now, working with my students and clients and even thinking about friends' names, it's mind blowing the branding possibilities. Frank Frederick: Next time you and I get together over a glass of wine, we'll talk about funny names and branding. What a hoot.
Best to you all as always
