Just landed a sweet audio book job--30,000 words--from a lovely and gracious V123 seeker in LA for whom I did a smaller project last year. Like Scott P. says, you just never know who is going to remember you months later. Always look forward to getting that repeat business! _________________ www.ciravoices.com

As always...thanks, everyone for your kindness and support.
I guess what I really want to say is: In this business, sometimes it's feast-or-famine, and you just have to roll with it. So don't get discouraged and let the dry spells get you down. Always look ahead. You don't have to scratch and claw---what you need is waiting for you right around the corner. _________________ www.ciravoices.com

September, you're gonna love this: It won't be on the shelves --rather, it's an audio study guide that follows along with text for pre-med students, done in a "conversational" tone called----Our Sexuality. Nudge-nudge-wink-wink, say no more. This one has YOU written all over it! Perhaps Mr. Pollak would request a private sampling? _________________ www.ciravoices.com

Hey, Dear, let me tell ya.... our church is actually in the middle of a 4 week series talking about SEX! I'm serious. They tackle all the tough issues of real life that all the other churches want to tip-toe around.
If anyone is interested enough to hear how a (very progressive, contemporary, and yet Biblically-grounded) church would talk about sex in a service, you can download the audio from the church's site at:
www.community-christian.net then click on the 'resources' link.
I have two teenagers. I have TOO MUCH sex talk going on in my house! _________________ Scott R. Pollak

Congratulations Cira. You know I'm a fan. _________________ www.ColinCampbellVoice.com

Cira -- Congratulations! Certainly a job way out of my comfort zone...LOL! I dare you to post some of it, though!
Scott -- WOW! May I fly down to your church on Sundays? We're having the HARDEST time finding a church here... certainly not like the ones in the South. _________________ Kim White |

Kim, you and I have been chatting a lot via p.m. and it's funny because I JUST sent you something about church before reading this thread, but go to willowcreek.com and try to find a Willow Creek based church in your area.
For anyone who is seeking a non-traditional church, who has been turned off by typical churches, a Willow Creek based church may be what you've been looking for. Let me emphasize that these types of churches do NOT compromise God's word; they merely present it in real-world, relevant ways. I love what a retired Methodist pastor says about our church:
"I may have been missing the mark all these years. Instead of doing a Bible study where we said 'Okay, for the next month we're going to study 1 Corinthians', perhaps we should have been doing what your church does: Identify an area of struggle or need that's common among your attenders (things like sex, divorce, prayer, etc) and address THAT topic, using Biblical passages to reinforce the message."
Now back to our regularly scheduled thread, praising Cira's great fortunes.
Sorry for the threadjack. _________________ Scott R. Pollak
