| I was wondering if it's possible to sign with two different agencies at the same time? Thanks! |

| ok, so if i were to sign with both of them, i should not let them know about each other or they will get mad and possibly get rid of me as a client? also, what if they both get me the same audition, then how would go about that? |

Amazing, amazing demo on your profile, Laura. I can see why the agencies are after you. _________________ voice talent Productions

Don't do the Dance of the Seven Veils with agents, Laura. It's a small enough voicing universe that the music will eventually come to an end.
My agreement with Agent X permits me to be represented by Agent Y.
It's all in the open.
You don't want to get a rep for shiftiness. (Leave that label to the agents.)

Definitely need to disclose info about your agents to other agents, if you are asked. And, sometimes it's not just the same town you can't be rep'd in... it's the same state.
It's a small vo world... be as up front as possible.

ditto on everyone's kudos; great sound!!!
If you're talking about LA, union-affiliated agents, there's no way you should double-up. Decide which one makes the better fit for you, then go for it! The only exception is with VoiceOverLA; they specialize in non-union stuff/special projects. They have a LOT of big names in their stable who are also repped by big union agencies in town. If those talents choose to do FiCore/Non-union stuff, it's with VOLA....
If you're talking about geographically separated agents (different states, e.g.) then there's no prob going with multiple agents. If they both send you the same script, you usually side with the one nearest you (esp if that person is actually located in your town or at least w/i driving distance).
best,

Amazingly, that's only happened to me about twice in lo these many years in voiceovers, but with multiple agents in various geographical locations as I have, it is the agent who contacted you FIRST to do an audition or to get a job that is the "agent of record." And by all means tell all your agents by whom you are represented everywhere. Some agents book talents nationwide too, so find that out when you sign with an agent cause they might tell you they book lots of jobs in "chicago" for example, so don't want you to have an agent there. Talk to each agent about having agents in other locations. And NEVER even think of having an agent in the same town UNLESS it is a DIFFERENT TYPE, for example, in NYC and other places we can have a "stage" agent and a "TV" agent and so on...Chicago and LA too... _________________ Bettye Zoller: CLIOS, ADDYS, GOLDEN RADIOS, AUDIES, Member Voice and Speech Trainers Assoc., AFTRA SAG, 34 years a pro. |
