1. When you slate an audition, do you usually slate the beginning or end? I've heard both, and wonder which is best.

2. In the Comment Box, I've just been writing a quick thanks for the opportunity to audition. For a generic audition, what do you usually
write?

3. How much of a 400 word audition do you record? If someone sends a long script, do you go ahead and read the whole thing?

4. Do any of you do talking homes? Could you please share your experiences marketing to realtors, initial agreements, etc.?

Thank you!

Hi Kim,

I had some of the same questions you have. I'm not sure if I'll be much help but sometimes it's nice to know other people are doing the same things. I have been slating my auditions in the beginning. I just say a quick "Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening", my name and my phone number. I'm not sure about the phone number part because I know that info is in our profile but I've been adding it anyway.

I've been doing the same as you in the comments box as well. Just thanking them for the opp, hope my voice meets your expectations, and I look forward to hearing from them. It's a bit difficult since I'm a newbie and have little experience.

For the script I just print out the "printable version" which states that is for audition purposes. The longer script states that is used for price quote purposes. I think the voice seeker probably knows within the first few sentences if they are interested in us or not so I don't see why they would need to hear a long audition. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong!

I never heard of talking homes but it sounds cool. Is this a v/o where the actor is playing the part of the house?

Like I said, I don't know if I've been much help. Good luck to you!

Hi Kim!

1.I used to slate front and back - was told by a few folks that was overkill - so now I just slate "Hi, name, custom audition" at front.
2. The comment box is my sales pitch...what I can do - when and how I can deliver the sound files, reiterate price etc.
3. I record one minute of audition script. If there's less than one minute of copy, I either water mark, or leave out one important sentence so it's not usable by client.

I've never done talking homes either...keep us posted on your efforts!
