Hi. I'm another newbie here.

My goal is to make a set of technical training tutorials that do not sound flat and bland, so I am working on acquiring VO skills as I believe that will help a lot. Also, I'd like to record the reading of stories and have them sound interesting. This could be books or short stories.

I plan on making my recordings available via podcast. While I am no expert, I have the technical skills on the computer to make/edit the recordings, mix with music, etc. that sound as good or better than most podcasts out there. I use a combo of adobe audition and soundbooth to make my recordings. I am taking a beginning acting class and learning what I can from other sources.

I live in North Florida and there are not a lot of local resources for training. I am surprised there isn't more available on the Internet as I would think voice acting would easily lend itself to a global audience for training, just as it does here for auditions.

I would appreciate any tips or advice anyone has for me. It is nice to meet all of you!

I used to live near Tampa. Your acting class with be very valuable. I took radio and tv broadcasting classes in Ybore, FL. Your local college should have something. It takes time, money, and dedication, but it's worth the effort. Very Happy

Hi, Deby. Nice to meet a fellow Floridian! I've been down to Tampa a couple of times. It's pretty nice down there. Last time I went was last year for the big RV show.

Did you find the broadcasting classes good? The class I'm taking now is at the local college. I've got a little money, a lot of dedication, and time is the hardest to find.
