Can someone provide a sample or perhaps some ideas of what to include in the "Remarks" section when submitting an audition on v123? I've read the tips provided by v123 and I'm just not sure how much or how little to include. Any voice-seekers have any input on what they prefer? If someone wants to share a sample of what they put in this section that would be great.

Thanks,
Jim

Jim,

I hope you get an answer, because I've asked this on two forums without a reply.... maybe they're holding out on us. Right now, I simply thank the client for the audition and reiterate my contact information. If you ever find out, please let me know....LOL!

Kim you are right.

This like trying to tell someone what to write to their grandmother. You know what best to say to your grandmother. You don't need us telling you what to say. What ever you do write, keep it short. Casting people are busy they want to listen and chose. Your contact info should always be there. It's not an essay, just a blurb.

I used to cast movies as well as theater. I always rolled my eyes at the actor who felt the need to send me a short novel as to why He or She should get the part. I had the headshot and resume and audition. I didn't have time to read all those resumes and then an autobiography as well.

Sooo...
Quote:
Thank you for considering my audition for (obvious project title).
If there are mispronunciations or directorial differences in my product to you, I will be happy to re-record until it is correct. If the script changes, however, I would need to reflect those changes on my final invoice.
Based on the audition script, I can have the completed recording in your email by start of business, two business days after I acknowledge the hire.
When you are satisfied with the emailed file(s), I will be delighted to burn the original WAV files to CD and mail that to you, for your records.

That sort of thing?

Include what you'll offer for the money: i.e., studio w/out patch; or is this just for the voice, and if so, specify uses and your understanding of what the finished length will be, and whether or not you're allowing buyout and for what medium; also how much edit/production you're willing to include, that sort of thing. How you will deliver the product, what's included in the fee for that and what's not, and what your payment terms are (e.g., if you require a deposit up front, let it be known there) You can also note any previous work done that relates to the project you're bidding on. Including direct contact info is good and a nice "thank you for any consideration". I would keep it short -- not even as long as this answer.

It is my understanding that the seeker doesn't see the comments until he likes the audition enough to click and look.

Not sure about that Colin, but I'd love to hear what Seekers say.

I keep my response short and sweet. "Thank you for listening to my audtion. I follow direction extremely well and offer clients a fast turn around via MP3, WAVE, or CD overnight. For your convenience, I can be reached via email at: ********com or by phone at ********. Thank you for the opportunity. Sincerely, Allison Scussel"

Sometimes, I may make the response a bit more personal depending on the audition. For example, I did an audition a while back for a PSA for The American Diabetes Association. I mentioned that diabetes is something very near and dear to my heart for "XX" reasons. I didn't get the job, but I did get a personal response from the client thanking me for taking the time to audition for them.

I've just done some casting and I simply ignore the blurb and look for the details I'd asked for. In 70% of the cases it was evident the auditioner hadn't read my project details very carefully and had not provided what I'd requested, I really don't know why. So my advice is read the project details carefully and frame your response around it and make sure you provide the info they ask for.

Make sure whatever you put in, it is all positive. I think Allison's is a great example of short and positive.
