I'm close to getting the Heil PR-40 mic but from what i've been reading on the net, it seems you need a little extra punch.

Do I need compression and aural excitement added to my VO?

Found the Aphex 204 Aural Exciter at $199.00.
Would this work with the Heil and do I still need an interface for my Mac?

Thanks

Frank

Interesting, the Aphex aural exciter.

I use Sonic Foundry's Acoustic Mirror, a DirectX software plug-in for Sound Forge. It creates realistic reverbs in hundreds of environments, allows you to low-cut or high-cut the echo at whatever frequency you enter, allows you to throw the echo more or less into the stereo/surrounds in a Dolby Pro-Logic environment, and can even alter the quality of your mic.

I bought it for $399 over 3 years ago; it should be a lot cheaper now.

DUDE! Let me hook you up - I called this number last night and ... Oh, wait ... you said aural excitement.

Nevermind.

Thanks for the info Mike. I'll look up Sonic Foundry's Acoustic Mirror.

Hey Todd, Great line!
I was beginning to think nobody got the joke.
Looks like my thread on Mics is making some noise.
