I am very leery of leaping testimonials. This is especially true in the voiceover world, where we seem bent on eating our young.
But - out of faith in the professionals whose work and sites I perused due to this thread - I just mailed off two payments to become a Wolfson Wonder myself.
So far, I admit that she has impressed with her personal touch.

So thanks to all who chipped in. It sort of bears out what Joe mentioned: that we can all benefit from your knowledge; so be heard a little more frequently.
Please.

Nonie,
If you can possibly get a session with Nancy, I swear to you, she's the busiest vo coach I've ever met in the 12 years in this business, you MUST grab it asap. She is absolutely not giving you a line, she doesn't need to, she's much too sought after. Without question, Nancy Wolfson is the best thing I've ever done for my career, honestly. She focuses on the business of voice acting which will be invaluable to you. I wish you the utmost luck ( which we all know is the meeting of opportunity and preparedness ), in the most wonderful business in the world.

PS........
Nancy just cast me in an animated series for Cartoon Network. 26 episodes. Trust me, best $130.00 you'll ever spend.

But how can a newbie talent learn mic technique over the phone? Mic technique takes practice ON a mic.

I'm an engineer, and I've heard newbies abuse a mic before, and it ain't pretty. Shocked

Yeah ummm, NANCY WOLFSON RULES! Not only was the coaching I got really superior in terms of skills and business advice (that could only come from someone who'd been an agent), I just booked the announce voice for the TYRA BANKS show because Nancy threw me the casting opportunity
( 2 months rent!). She's always looking out for her clients best interest and she's not in to BS, and that alone has more value to me than anything in this town.
I have always highly recommeded Nancy and will continue to do so, she is professional, genuine and a whole lotta fun!

Genius self publicist that she is Nancy Wolfson has put a link to this thread on her site "Nancy Wolfson under fire on VO blog - former students to the rescue". Someone that astute you need batting for your team.

You need to spend some money on someone who doesn't like you, doesn't know you, doesn't particularly care about you but knows her business inside out. No implication that Nancy is a nasty person, the brief encounter I had with her (not coaching related) was direct, honest, open and charming.

Nancy is opinionated, forward, direct, strong, forthright, amusing and very supportive of her students, of which I've been a humble part for four sessions.
It's very much like her to trumpet her being "under fire" at this VO site when, in fact, one question led to an avalanche of supporting testimonials and one semi-negative comment.

It's marketing, marketing, marketing...and she is touched by a small genius at it. Voice coaching aside, the application of that skill to her stable is worth the money.

The AKG (pronounced Ackgur) tribe in Fochabers have a lock of her hair in their "Voboothie" (sacred place). Every Thursday is Nancy Day, she is worshipped thus -

"Och all hail gran n dandy wor wifey frae LA
Blon', sharp n bonnie, teaches spickin aye day.
Fowk cry her Nancy gi' her muckle respect too
Tae us here she's a goddess but ye kent that fine too."
Couldn't have put it better myself.

Philip,

You are a genius of the first rank, and not just at voiceover work. (Though that too!) Very Happy

For those who admire Nancy and like to hear from like minded people you'll be delighted to know I managed to track down the High Priestess of the AKG tribe for an interview anbout their Goddess.
