Still a great deal even at that price. Colin, I've said it before and I will say it again, you do top notch work. I strongly recommend Colin, with his experience in radio and using equipment most of us will never totally understand, you cannot go wrong.

For some reason Tom, your files weren't where they were supposed to be. I'm organized but not too much. Sorry man. _________________ www.ColinCampbellVoice.com

Severial day ago Maya Kuper posted regrading Mastering vs Pre-Mastering
Sorry but Ms Kuper is ill informed and most likely because she has very little background in vinyl disk production. I started out years ago in the days of analogue and vinyl records. When I finished a mix of the work it went to be mastered by and engineer who set levels, tone and supervised the transcription to a Master Disc.
Mastering is a term that originated in the days of vinyl records. The finished tape, wire or lacquer was transcribed to a disk using a Mastering Lathe; the primary supplier of these lathes was Neumann. The mastering engineer would set level and tonality for the work with equalizer circuits and then begin the transfer. A heated stylus on the transcript Mastering Lather would cut the medium. As the stylus moved from the outer edge of the disk toward the center the Mastering Engineer would manually raise the mid and hi frequency response of the system to compensate for the slower speed of the disk as it passed under the cutting stylist. The mastering engineer would cut two mastered one for evaluation by the client, called a reference master and one to be use to make the mother from which stampers were made. If the client accepted the reference master then the job would go to the pressing plant.
Then as now Mastering has to do with setting volume level one cut to another, setting tonality of the cuts, stereo separation and cleaning up of the tracks. GLASS MASTERING has to do with the taking of the information supplied in any one of several mediums including CDs and producing a GLASS MASTER much like the mother use in the days of vinyl. All the information on the master is transferred to the GLASS MASTER, no changes can be made to the material in this step.
I hope this straightens up miss concepts. What Mr. Campbell does when he cleans up a track, sets tonality, reverb ect ect is actually MASTERING. |

Awww Colin, I don't see my demos on there.
I did want to post a little extra boost for Colin - I just snagged an agent here and have an agent from another market interested. Couldn't have done it without having a commercial demo! Colin produced mine. I couldn't be happier. |

I decided to take this "down time" with FartCast cutting into my leads to produce a new "DocuDrama" demo. Here it is if anyone cares....

Colin,
I like your voice. I would like to hear a bit more of the story to see how you handle the emotion. One presentation style is nice, but more would be great and give a Voice Seeker a better opportunity to hear what you would do with the script.
Did I mention I like your voice?

Not at all, just a little friendly thought - out loud as it were...
I hear the talent in your voice and I wanted more - it's my producer side coming out. I like more than a tease, but less than an an hour when it comes to long-form demos.

Thank you Frank. Do you have a script for me to try?
One thing that you should know is that people like me are script addicts. _________________ www.ColinCampbellVoice.com

You will be hearing from me soon regarding a script or two.
