Here is an idea! Voice123 sets up a Paypal Account designated for contest, this account would be used for voice-artist to pay the $5.00 or whatever the rate may be, even $2.00 or $1.00, if over 100 participate in the show or even 50 attend winner gets to take home the pot.

There can be many categories since everyone has a niche on what they are capable of doing when it comes to voiceovers. To make it harder to win the pot it can organized so that contestants can only participate in contest they don’t have a niche for. Who better than for the staff at voice123 to be the judges, so the ratings would be non bias and everyone gets to work their craft and maybe win something, 2nd place gets a free t-shirt.

There’d be a minimum amount of participants per category or however many the system can entertain which would be open to the world.

So there’d be: The Last Documentary Standing
The Last Radio
The Last Character, etc.

Anyone get this ad? Perhaps we can hear all the other versions of the price is right here.

Lou:
I'm with you: a monthly contest'd be fun. Maybe let the rabble vote a few off a la survivor.
I think there's a similar suggestion elsewhere on this sprawling forum.
As to your Price is Right, I thought it pretty darn good and directions-specific. Think they may hear it as overly spoofy, but that's what they sought.
Can't post another take, since I personally thought it a trifle cheap for the market and prep and craft involved.

lol survior!

Maybe next summer or in the fall, who knows. First we'll have to all see how the betta version of: "The New Voice 123", works out. Hope it doesn't crash.....

The machine will be taking over. Kind of like in the Matrix only the Oracel will know our destiny and we'll all be in the system as end users while the Agents/customer will be looking for: The One

Once that's done the only thing left to do would be to enhance the site some more adding features like the contest, which like you mention have already been suggested. But it's the only diverion from the real reality the talent will have inorder for us not to realize we're all inside the Matrix (the new voice123).

Time will tell...

Lou

One of the problems I can see with this idea is that it might make V123 a gaming/gambling site. I think at the very least special licenses are required to run public contests/sweepstakes/etc.

I'm just guessing - maybe someone else knows for sure.

Louis, I agree with Chip, there’s some kind of license required to run things like that (like for everything else), also I believe for Voice123 to get involved in contests or situations alike ..mmmm, can be tricky, you know.

Anyway, will comment this with Voice123´s development department and see if maybe in the future this can be considered.

Keep those ideas coming

Cheers.

hey there Freddie

I will try and think of something that won't require a license.

Like a collaborative annex with periodicals of some sort that can be put together by the Partners, similar to Backstage but for the voiceover world.

Each month or every 3 months, there can be a write-up in the Artist of the Month Section Featuring: "Your story". I get one from my runners club but not from the voiceover club, and sometimes there is a blank page which reads: " Your Ad Here". which is another way to get sponsorship once you start cicurlating.

There are enough activities going on in the voice123 site that can give it more exposure, by soliciting such material with knowledge and resources to the local Arts Industury, and getting more folks involed who are not just exclusive talent, but also getting updates on local events who's who etc, then before you know it folks will start leaving the house. Think that's what you guys are going to when you go to Vegus right?

When in color you look like Peter Frechette who used to be on the Profiler or was it The Pretender . I forget.

Thanks for listening.

Contests are fun! But something like this (where everyone pays to play) would be illegal.

Would This be Illegal:

Scott~ Management and Distribution of Cds/I-tunes Download and
Talent cast
Robert~ Talent
Nikki~ Copyright oversight of royalty free loops usage and Talent
Todd~ voice talent
Amy~ Talent

And an editor too...Perhaps the dude who sings you got skin?

Louis~ Keep the ideas coming in…

All we’d need are some scripts to bring the voices to life and throw them into I~tunes even if they are not for profit or charity it would work as long as the theme is right, folks would download the audio podcast entertainment/radio shows?. Anyone have any screen plays they are writing that they’d like to contribute to such a cause/idea. As you can see even my crazy ideas get downloaded. This is just for the month of December…. I’d be going to the bank with I nice check if I charged folks to hear my shows but the entertainment is free, as you can see from the Dec stats folks will listen if you have something to offer… If we offered legitimate voice entertainment we could make some funding on the side while waiting for client to select talent for lead provided we follow all the rules

What if talent on Voice123 offered something to the people…As a result you get to work your talent and leave behind your voice for everyone to enjoy.,,,,

Anyone?
