But my heart bleeds for you and mostly your son.
Crude as it sounds, I think it's a relief that he had to deal with death at such a young and tender age. How many people have had to experience a experience like that? I haven't. I'm still waiting. I don't know if a blessing, or a handicapp, that I have yet to experience. You son knows how to deal with it, at least he gone through a valuable maturing process, many of us, (including me) have yet to experience. I will end my thoughts here, because I have learned that all else is platitudes, and I don't want to burden you with those. I hope I have left you with a diffferent perspective to comfort your son, that God has loaned to you.

Chuck

So sorry Debbie. It sounds to me like Post Tramatic Stress Disorder or PTSD for short. Most people have it after serious accidents or witnessing anything tramatic....like our soldiers. Believe me...I know. I have it due to a horrible freak car accident 7yrs. ago when I hydroplaned, crossed the median and hit an 18-wheeler head-on. I was ejected & dragged down the highway 900ft. so I was told. My right leg was amputated above the knee and the doctors re-attached my right arm. They gave me a 10% chance....thats all. I woke up 68 days later.
It took me almost 2yrs. to come out of the depression and I'm fine now but still have horrible dreams & thoughts because of PTSD.

A good psychogist (PHD) can help if it continues....and sometimes it can last a lifetime. Hope this helps.

mega eek Sid....wow! That's horrible! But then again...you're a living, breathing MIRACLE! One would think it would be IMPOSSIBLE to survive that. AMAZING!

Deb...I have a brother and several friends who are firemen/paramedics, and have gone through such things. My brother's very first ambulance call was a fatal accident, where a child was killed, and the man driving the car was ejected and the car rolled over him. Even after all the training, it was VERY tough for him to take. Another friend of mine who is a Fire Capt in Michigan...every time he deals with a fatal car accident or fire, he is shaken for days and days. That's a hard thing for ANYONE to go thru. I'm sure he'll work thru it though. Bless his heart.

Just wanted everyone to know Scott is doing better and better! He has been to Viola's place to just water her garden, twice since her death. (hasn't gone inside) as her sister in Montana has asked him to do this until the house can be sold. He discovered her voicemail on our phone messages, listened to her asking for Scott's help that one last time, and then said "awww" under his breath and deleted it. So I think things are moving along. He and I appreciate all your kind words and heartfelt kind wishes you posted for us.
You are ALL an amazing bunch of folks!
The sharing of your OWN personal stories.....They are so life-changing and remarkable! You are all REMARKABLE!
Thanks so much for your support!

Someone left a poster in our mailbox the other day about a lost cat with a picture of said animal on it. My 4 year old son asked me what it was about. I told him someone lost their cat and we should keep an eye out for it. He carried that poster around for several days asking about it. I finally told him that maybe someone found it or it came home. After considering that for a while with a perplexed look on his face he asked if he could throw the poster away now. He didn't want to look at it anymore.

Debbie,

I'm sorry I didn't read this post sooner. I'm glad to hear your son is feeling a little better about this.

Thinking of you and your family.... Caryn
