Hey folks. I just joined up with Voice123, and I am curious as to what people think of my voice resume. I know it's not perfect, but if you have any suggestions on what to do to make it sound a bit better, I will be happy to hear them. Any general suggestions would be nice too. My profile is up at http://ianlevenstein.voice123.com. The reel is attached to this post, so thanks in advance, and have a happy holidays!

I think you have a great, smooth young voice. I really liked the reel.

You have a good radio voice. I am assuming this is a demo for finding a sportscaster gigs? Okay, here goes by segments.

First, get rid of the first second SFX. I went straight to the volume knob and thats not a good thing, right?

First Segment - Sounds like you kinda pull back towards the end. Simple volume adjustment.

Second Segment - Just lose it.

Third - Say it like you got a pair. I mean really say it from the gut "LIVE" and everytime you go into the gruntal voice. Don't hold back. Once again, you can adjust volume during edit.

Forth Segment - Just lose it or continue on till it get to the point.

Fifth Segment - Your best. Move it Up front.

Sixth Segment - Background music is a little to loud

Seventh Segment - Blended to much with sixth, needed better separation.

There you go. Simple adjustments. You are on your way. Cool

Thanks for the constructive criticism Victor, and thanks for the kind words Scott! Here is a retooled reel using the suggestions Victor made. I rearranged things a bit and got rid of a clip, and raised the volume at parts. I think I actually am a bit happier with things the way they sound this way, but your comments comparing the two would be a great help!

Articulation - I couldn't understand the word Boston College? Be sure to warm up sufficiently so that you can read that quickly without swallowing the words.

And since those clips really "place" you in age, location, etc. - I would recommend finding some other copy that would allow you to use that style, but sound more National and established.

Now that you have posted your own demo here - go through the forum and listen to the posted demos and read all the critiques. You will learn a lot from that. You will hear great demos and not so great demos - and you will start to learn what differentiates them.
