HI!

I'm just signing with Voice 123, but I've always been told not to start out with a home studio. But it looks as though I need SOMETHING or else no auditions - I have the list of equipment - could someone share with me how they started Confused

Hi Tammy,

We'll need to know a bit more about your background and goals to help out.

Would you be so kind as to post an intro in the "Hello" forum?

As a general guide, you can always start out with a USB microphone like the Sampson or SnowBall for under $100. But you may need some training in VO first...

In any case, nice to meet you.

Look around - plenty to see!

Cheers,
Joe J Thomas

Hi Joe,

Thanks for responding - I will take your advice and post on the Hello Forum as well. I have a radio/tv background - ba degree in broadcast
journalism and just completed a refresher training with Creative Voice
Development Group - Albany, NY. I just condensed my adult life in two sentences! With Creative Voice I produced a high-end demo (January 07) that I am using to market myself with - I also want to be able to compete for auditions via Voice123. I've done tons of voice recording, but I'm just starting out from this angle - so I'm a total novice here...home equipment and all. I'll look into your suggestion of mics.....

My goal - lots of opportunities to perform as a premium voice talent

Thank you again - I've gotta figure this stuff out! Please feel free to tell me anything you may think of!!

Hello Steven,

To know if a job is non or Union is very simple, each lead will contain all the information, it also depends on what related option(s) you selected when creating your profile. I you selected Non Union, well those are the ones you will receive on your Voice123 inbox.

Regarding listing your rates on the profile, it is something you will provide when answering the leads, this information will not be published to on your page.

Hope that helps.

...also, a bit of Nettiquitte for y'all...

Try not to "Thread-Jack" - that's where you start a new topic in an existing thread...

There's even a little note at the top of each "Post a reply" page:

Just good forum manners Wink

Hope to see you over in "Hello" - cheers!,
Joe

Tammy: I was going to suggest a MacBook for about $1500. It comes loaded with Garageband, and Itunes, which, with a Samson C01U USB mic, and a pop filter, you would be set up in your closet for PRIMO sound.

HTH...and welcome.
