I have access to royalty free sound effects cds. Would I be wise to get a full set of these, and offer full or partial production of my own spots as a service. or is the company hiring me resopnsible for all that stuff?

I'm asking, because most of the demo scripts I have downloaded all have sound fx references.

Thanks, and thanks for the warm welcome from all of you.
Terry

Terry..
Most auditions are better served by dry reads.
And most jobs you get will be for unproduced stuff.
So having a music and f/x library can be superfluous. On the other hand, it's fun to play with and will come in handy for the occasional desperate customer who wants the All-Dressed Super Special.
So, if you can get it...why not?

Like, I've got two f/x trax featuring rutting sloths. Can't imagine where I'd ever need them, but it's one little niche market I have cornered.

Voice On, eh?

Terry,

Being the smart aleck I am, the simple answer is :YES. It really is all of those scenarios and more depending, on the job and what you have agreed to do. The big thing is upfront make clear w/the client that you are either providing "read only" or "full production", then make clearer what that entails(and what your'e charging for it!). Now that you are fully confused, I'll be in the corner watching the chaos unfold....... Twisted Evil

The problem with sloth porn is that the other sloths are too lazy to watch it!

Thanks for your help gentlemen. I appreciate it.
