Lisa,

Do see a Doctor.

But I wouldn't panic just yet.

The nose has a lot of thin, sensetive, blood-filled tissue in it. Not that unusual to have some bleeding when it's already swolen. At this point, you don't know what it is, but your Doctor will be able to find out more...

Strangely, I've got very similar symptoms. Left side only. Some bleeding. Sharp pain. If it continues, I'll go back for a second visit. So far it seems to be lessening. I'm also a bit prone to letting my imagination take over and think of the worst (must be an actor thing).

Please know that we're all thinking of you, and wish you well. Let us know as soon as you find out more.

Be healthy,
Joe

Lisa,

I second what some of the others have already said. I too tend to freak out very when I have a odd symptom. Maybe it is an actor thing like Joe said....
I just want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers as well. Please, let us all know as soon as you find anything out from the doctor.

I will be praying and awaiting your good news!

Hang in there!!!

It is truly awesome to see the kind of support this group gives to one of our members! respekt

WHEWWWWWWWWW!!!!!! Pray Dancing

Thank you for your prayers, all! There was good news...but there's some bad news too.

The growth in my nasal passages is a polyp, and non-cancerous. Very Happy The bad news is that it DOES have to be removed surgically, othewise will just continue to grow. This wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that I can't work! I go in for the consultation with the surgeon on the 8th, and I guess it will be scheduled then. But in the meantime, there's a ton of leads I can't answer. And what happens if any of the ones that I HAVE responded to contact me? If I tell them I can't do it over nasal polyps, they're not real likely to ever contact me again, will they? Crying or Very sad I already told that one company that contacted me on Monday that I was down due to a cold. He said he would keep me in mind for future work, but if he contacts be between now and the time I recover, only to have to turn him down again....my chances with them will be KAPUT!

On the upside, though....won't the cost of this surgery be tax deductible? I HAVE to have it done for business purposes, right?

Wow Lisa...I'm sorry you have to go through this. I'm sure they'll understand--they get medical problems too. Aside from just explaining the situation to them, there's no way around it. You gotta do whachya gotta do. Just take care of the medical business so you can take care of regular business.

Cheers,
Cameron

Yeah Lisa, it will hurt short term....but it won't hurt long term and you will feel so much better when your up and running again. Get a massage a few days after your sugery. Massage actually helps people heal faster.

Take Care

Lisa,

Whew, indeed! Sorry you've got to get the surgery, but really glad it's not something more major...

I like the way Deby thinks. Since you can't work, best not to worry about it. Stress tends to make things worse anyway. Kick back and relax. Take a long weekend if you can somewhere. Or maybe a day-spa.

Keep us in the know. We'll keep sending healthy vibes.

Joe

Oh, I'm glad you're getting this taken care of....And it will be a "done" thing soon, and you can move forward. You may have to turn some people down, but ya know...your voice and "sound" should come back stronger and better, with that nasty thing out of your system.Take care....

Lisa, first of all, I told you in an earlier post we'd all celebrate with you when you came back with the news that it's NOT something horrible, so at this moment, we're all jumping for joy with you and thanking GOD for taking care of you!

Next, take a moment and keep things in perspective. NOTHING else matters if you don't have your health. If you miss a lead or two, or a job or two... well, honestly, so what? We all know that we're lucky to land a job here once a month anyway, and then it's only for a hundred bucks or so. Personally, I'd rather have my sinuses fixed, THEN come back and go after the work.

You've been given a break here, in more ways than one. Tonight, say a prayer of thanks to God. Then hug your husband and kids and tell them you love them. Then enjoy the time off. Get your bad ol' nose all fixed up, keep hanging out here with us, and we'll enjoy hearing the new you when you're back up and raring to go in no time.

We love ya, kiddo!

Scott...thank you so much. I'm gonna vote you in for sainthood. You're too kind!

And I AM looking forward to getting this thing out. I'm anxious to know what I'll sound like, and can't wait to start recording demos again. I'm about to run down to walmart and pick up some spray and some antibiotic that the doctor perscribed yesterday...maybe that will help me be able to do some between now and the surgery. Time off is not something to really enjoy for me. I've been an unemployed housewife since Sept of '05, and was really enjoying having work to do again.

I may record a demo when I get back, just to post in here, and see what I can do even with all this crud. Who knows? Maybe someone out there is search of a gravely voiced, nasally female?? It could happen! Very Happy

Lisa,

I too am sorry you have to have surgery. But, I am so thankful that it is nothing worse! You will be back on your vocal feet in no time.
Do you have your surgery scheduled yet?

I bet you could make some good cash with one of those 900 #'s LOL
Especially if you use Deby's script! Laughing

Hang in there and just remember....something good WILL come out of all this for you!

I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Get Well Lisa!!

Also remember these words

Besides GOD!!

The best six doctors anywhere
And no one can deny it
Are sunshine, water, rest, and air
Exercise and diet.
These six will gladly you attend
If only you are willing
Your mind they'll ease
Your will they'll mend
And charge you not a shilling.

In My Prayers

Tony
