I think you'll like this mic. Surprised more people don't know about it. Excellent bang for the buck!

Never used it but have heard good things about it. If ya don't like the pres you can always buy a seperate pre, instead of using the pre's on the Mobilepre. Then again they may be okay, can't answer since I've never used it.

Yeah, get the Auralex. It works alot better since it's true acoustic foam. I used stuff like this early on, it's really a waste of money.

Don't use headphones, can't help ya there either.

I think the setup will serve ya well for a startup. Only change I would make would be the foam. You can pick up a Roominator D36 package at Sweetwater http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/RoomDST36B/ which will serve ya better for a little over $100.

Randall,

I don't have any experience with the other items, but I have a set of the Bose headphones. They sound fantastic, and they're extremely comfortable to wear for long sessions. I spend a lot of time with them on! Good choice!

Re: headphones.... I've worked in radio for 30+ years now and all we've ever used are variations of Sony's MDR-7506 (the current model number). I bought my first pair about 20 years ago and JUST replaced them about 6 months ago. They're less than the Bose (at $99) are astoundingly comfortable and exceptionally clean with no over-pronounced bass or highs. Far, far and away my favorites. Also, go on to cnet.com and read some reviews on the headphones they recommend there.
