I'm just curious what you guys post in the 'comments' section of the audition. I'm not really sure what's expected of me in that area, am I supposed to be funny, flip or just straight and serious? What do you guys do?

That's your one chance to have any sort of "conversation" with your potential client. You need to let them know what's going to make them want to choose you over the 300 other demos that are just as good as yours.

Can you turn the work around in a reasonably speedy timeframe? What methods do you have available to you with which to deliver the finished track? Answer any specific questions they may have posed in the audition lead. You don't have to be particularly verbose, but you need to sell yourself to the client so that you stand out from the rest in their eyes.

And thank them for the opportunity as well.

As far as funny or otherwise, I'd keep it professional. If the spot for which you're auditioning is humorous, let your audition show the humor. A little levity would not be amiss when appropriate, but you might want to steer clear of wacky.

Completely agree with Chip, the remarks need to reflect your professionalism and capabilities. You can include a bit about your experience, recording and delivering capabilities, turn around time, etc.

In the remarks section you are representing yourself and it is an integral part of the auditioning process.
