Seth....you share the same problem many of us have. I too have a day job that prevents me from being able to respond to any of the leads that come in during the day, until I get home in the evening and by that time it's usually in the low hundreds. If any of them interest me, I still audition for them....I don't believe many (if any) ever even get heard tho. But it's good practice.

Ugh. I know this is a lame question, but should we always slate on the auditions? I guess I thought they would be looking at all the information that's sent with the demo and wouldn't need it.

I personally err on the side of caution; a voice seeker may just play the demos first until they find one they like, THEN read their info. So I always slate. You never know.

That was a real education all in itself. I would have watermarked my demos, based on some of the things I've read in the forums here in the last few days.
My day job allows me some flexibility to check more often than most people would, at least some of the time, so I may be able to use that to my benefit.
As far as slating is concerned, should I slate at the beginning or the end of the audition? I don't know what the norm is in this industry.
I'm also a songwriter, so I'm familiar with the process of pitching demos in the music business, and the norm there is to label every single thing you send in some way. For e-mail mp3 submissions, I've always figured the e-mail address was enough to identify me from, but on all printed materials, be they hard copies or Word files, my full contact info is always included.
Is it customary to send a cover letter as a .doc file along with the audition?
Thanks.
