You did a great job Joe, just curious as to where you gained the knowledge to perform as Russian boys?

Thanks Lynne!

I travelled for 14 years with the Bolshoi Ballet, until a tragic groin injury ended my career. Thankfully, it wasn't my groin.

Disillusioned, I drifted from one career to another... Nuclear Physicist, Museum Curator, Decorative Marble Polisher... Until VO subsumed my existence!

That and Scientology,
Joe

p.s. I learned some Russian from a secretary in Ohio, who was also Miss Ohio. Plus I picked up a bit more doing "Chess", where I played Anatoly...

Its so interesting the careers Voice artists have had, and you Joe have so much experience to pull from, good job for utilizing it.

I, on the other hand, have never been able to mimic another accent, even growing up when the kids in school copied the American accent..I never could!

Never say never...

I'd put child voices outside my range, but with a bit of practice and direction, viola! New opportunities!

I'll bet you can stretch a bit to other regional dialects. From there, it's just one step at a time 'till you're in another country...

Give it a shot - this is the perfect place to experiment. Or you can try an improv class to hone new characters (tip-o-the-hat to JS Wink)

Adapt, Adopt, and Improve,
Joe

Thanks Joe, after I wrote "Never" it crossed my mind as to what a negative word that is... some good suggestions, and I'm looking into classes after I get back from Vegas.

I"m so glad you defected. I wonder what kind of curtain rod you have to use when you hang and iron curtain?

Not sure what kind of rod, but I do know I'll have to wait in a queue for it...

Hey John! Are we related?

Joe (Hey Jude)

Great job on the Russian boys vocals--I wouldn't have even attempted it! You never know, though, do ya?

Let's hear it for quick-paying clients, too!

Here's hoping more kopeks come your way...

Late to the party - but ... congrats Joe! You have quite a nice touch with young Russian boys.

Wait ... that didn't come out right ...
