I have to say, that was probably the most pleasant introduction I've ever read on a message board.

Welcome, Vanessa!

I agree. Welcome Vanessa

This sponsored site by Voice123 was conceived with the idea of having a place in which to communicate in a more active way, where you can participate in open discussions, submit your inquiries, ask technical questions, suggest new ideas, get critique and feedback on your profile and demos, look for help and help others, find new information related to the industry or just share your mind.

We really want voice over Savvy Forum to be a gathering tool for the voice over community and a great resource for you.
We are hoping to see you around.

That is nice of you, thanks for the welcome!
Now, i think i should participate to some discussions, the only thing is that you seem all mostly from the US and living there am I wrong?
and i am here, in France (missing the US.. A lot!) and it looks like that the business over there is pretty different from the one here, not in the "how to do the job", but the way the business is.
Here, you mostly really work in Paris where all the biggest studios, tvs and radios are, in the rest of the country, i better have a home studio because there are few productions and the rates are really lower than in Paris too.
Is there any of you living also in france or europe?

Sending you all my very ebst from here,
Vanessa

Thanks, Vanessa! I appreciate it.

There are a lot of sharks in Chicago, and more than a handful are Great Whites compared to me. The good thing about a big market like Chicago is that there are a lot of opportunities. The bad thing is there is a ton of competition.

Fortunately, over the years I have built up a trusty network of producers who like to work with me, and I've been very lucky to have had some fantastic agents willing to work with me.

The Paris "scene" sounds interesting! Thanks for sharing that. It's always interesting, to me, to hear what things are like elsewhere in the world.

Welcome Vanessa!

Tania Isabel, my wife and co-founder of Voice123, lived in Paris for one year. She speaks French pretty well and forces me to watch TV5 all day long Razz

By the way, we will be expanding our language categories pretty soon to allow for a better matching of project that require French.
