Hello all, Very Happy My name is Tony and I have just recently decided to take the plunge into my life long ambition.
When I graduated high school in 1983 one thing became very clear and that was that nothing was very clear! I took the untrained voice talent I possessed at 18 years of age to my local radio station and actually scored some studio time. After four reads I was told, "Kid you have a great voice but come see us after you loose the New York accent." Totaly dejected Crying or Very sad I left but never did go back. Ah, if we could only go back in time. I blew my oportunity. Well, I spent the next 24 years playing with my vocal cords and brought them to places I had never imagined. Now the accent is gone, the voice is strong and my character library is huge and I have finaly decided to do more with my talent then entertain family and friends.
I joined Voice 123 only last week and already I can not keep up with the possibilities. While I am by no meens a pro at this an as of yet have not scored a job I would like to offer some advice to anyone who will have it. Jump into your dreams with both feet and do not be afraid to learn der klugscheisser . I look foward to chatting with some of you and sharing experiences. Good luck to us all and have a great day, Tony Very Happy

Yo Tony!

Shoot, Gosh, Darn, I wish I had a a Knew Yerk akcent...

All kidding aside Tony, I totally relate to your story. I actually went to the infamous Connecticut School of Broadcasting. After spending a bunch of dough on the school I was informed you will now need to create a demo tape. Duplicate it a 100 times. Which that in itself for a 19 year old, on his own for the first time, no job, was not looking very good. Now mail it to the 100 radio stations, and hope one of them select you. Once selected bada bing bada boom you get to work the Night Shift 11p-5a with 3 hrs production time for just 5$ per hour. Which was about double minimum wage at the time. Actually, I had a job as a courier making $5.35 per hour after the school. Anyway, to say the least I was severely depressed about my future. My vision was to launch a Radio Career and hope to leapfrog into Acting. I was always in High School plays and Drama classes. So like you Anthony I have lived the last several decades honing my vocal skills wherever I could find a place to do it. Mainly reading Road Signs in an announcer voice. The kids would either chuckle or say Stop It Dad.

So, Don't Give Up!, Never Surrender! Dream On Dude! You have an advantage. Your in Knew Yerk.

Don't give up Anthony! If it wasn't because we followed our dreams, Voice123 would not exists. It pays to follow your dreams as long as you follow them consistently, with passion, and VERY, VERY quickly.
