Greetings. I found this forum yesterday. At this point I am here to learn. I need training, coaching and all the other things that have been advised in the newbie random thoughts.

Living in Northern NJ I'd like to ask for any suggestions on classes, in this area. I took a six week workshop in 2000 in NYC and have done no other VO development since. It is time to take the training and all else seriously.

Any specific suggestions will be most appreciated. I am looking at the Susan Berkley teleclass at the moment, if I have passed the audition to the class.

Meanwhile my background is filled with Corporate america, pharmaceutical company experience with some corporate and seminar presentations, background as a music major in college ( trombone) and some adventures such as finishing a couple marathon's, scuba diving, long distance and endurance motorcycling.

I'm not much for long walks on the beach, candle lit dinners, soft music... sorry, wrong forum.

Thanks in advance,

Al

Al,

I too am in Jersey and work for big Pharma! Welcome to the boards.

With regard to classes, there are many good places to study in Manhattan but not much in Jersey I'm afraid. I hope you are willing to travel into the city.

Check out the following:
http://www.edgestudio.com
http://www.voiceoversUnlimited.com
http://www.pdrvoicecoaching.com/

And Harlan Hogan has collected an extensive list of coaches all over the country here: http://harlanhogan.com/coachList.php

There are many teachers / coaches that roam around the country giving classes. You've got to keep an eye out for them on this board, the VO-BB and voice-overs boards.

If there is every anything I can do to help, please feel free to let me know.

Joe

Thanks Joe. I am looking at too workshops offered in the area, one is the Susan Berkley teleclass the other is by "Such a Voice". Perhaps we can arrange to speak offline on the details. I'd really like some opinions. Also, anyone that wants to share anything on these two slasses here is great as well, I'm all ears.

Regards,

Al

Hey Alfred,

I found this on another thread. It might be a good place for you to start, and it's FREE but only for this month so hurry.
