Actually, recording in the car when done right sounds way better than most people's home studios.

Actually, from the acoustics perspective, a car's interior offers a number of desirable recording features such as a non-symetrical space, dashboard diffusion, broadband absorption in the seats, high-end deadening in the ceiling, and non-parallel walls keeping reflection off the glass under control. My personal choice is a 4 door 1989 Buick LeSabre. This is considered vintage by many because of it's pre-Tiger Woods influence on design which, of course, was driven by marketing. But, simply bringing this up inevitably leads to the Chevy-Ford flame-wars, a precursor to the domestic versus import argument. Naturally, YMMV . . . literally.

This is what it's come to, huh? One posted L&R in almost 48 hours. So sad.

Okay, this isn't from here, but it's the stuff I love doing most. Every week I write and/or voice and produce spots for a local station from here at home. Today's was a co-op spot between the Georgia Peach commission and local groceries. I was sent copy points and asked to script a :50 spot that would allow for :10 local tags. This is what I ended up with.

I used to sell cars for a living. If only I had known about the in-car recording possibilities!. Would have closed a lot more deals.

I took your Coffee with the Mayor and added some authentic '50s music. A piece of Leroy Anderson's Fiddle Faddle. He's one of my favorites although it's pure pop from that era. Among his works are The Typewriter Song, Syncopated Clock, but he's most well- known for Sleighride. I didn't audition myself, but your version is just about what I had in mind, with this music underneath.

Also, one other bit of nonsense just for fun.

Opened but not rated, eh? That seems to be my plight these days as well. I have to keep reminding myself that every job I booked via V123 was 'not rated'. It's just nice to know what they thought of it. Glad you liked my production.
