Hi there! I'm just starting out as a UK voice-over and it would be great to know what you think of my current demo and get some top tips on how to improve.

Looking forward to reading your comments.

Cheers!

Hi Simon,

I'll give you comments if you'll answer my question at the end...deal?

Positively--You have a natural delivery that is not too "announcery." Here in the US, there's an ongoing trend to sound natural, and like a "real person." You sound this way and comfortable with the reads.

Constructively--I think I'm hearing a little bit of "W" sound when I should be hearing "R." It's subtle, but perhaps it's like "cwaft" when you should be saying "craft." Listen and see if you hear that. Also, we typical Americans aren't very knowledgeable on UK accents and sub-cultures. I think I hear just a touch of something--perhaps Liverpool accent? Do you know what I'm talking about? Nevertheless, I think you're just a slight bit away from what we might think of as a "neutral" UK accent that you might want to pursue.

My question is...how many producers of various media in the UK are using North American (or US) accents for spots and productions? Is there much of a market there? I've thought about doing some marketing over there if so (Don't worry, though. I don't think I'd be much competition for you!) Just curious.

Okay...I can dish it out, and now I can take it. Please feel free to critique my own demo from http://toddbelcher.voice123.com. Pick any demo and give me feedback.

Keep up the great work, and all the best to you.

Todd

Thanks for your feedback Todd. Really appreciate it. It's a first demo so hopefully with some work I'll iron-out any problems.

In all honesty I really dont know what the demand is for US accents here in the UK... sorry!

Thanks again Smile
